changedThis is Iain from Neon Doctrine, and I am writing to share sad information with the Devilated and Neon Doctrine communities: the lead developer of Devilated, Trunka, is currently experiencing a very serious health issue, and is unable to work on the game and will not be able to continue development or interact for the foreseeable future. We will not be going into any additional details and ask that the community respect the wishes of Trunka and his family for privacy during this time, but please know that everyone is working to support him during this time.
changedWhat does this mean for Devilated? It means that we will be moving forward with the launch as agreed by Trunka and Neon Doctrine leadership prior to his health issues. The original contracts and profit shares will remain in place. We have also spoken with his family and they have given their blessing for us to launch. Thanks to the assistance of Trunka and his family, Neon Doctrine is able to provide development support to Devilated but we are currently unable to do any content updates and will focus polishing and fixing any issues that arise after launch. It will also likely take us longer to fix issues than is normal as our teams are unfamiliar with Devilated’s code. Devilated has gone through the Neon Doctrine QA process, and we are very happy with the content and quality of Devilated but it’s important that players understand the situation so that their purchases can be made with full knowledge.
changedAs Trunka’s partners on Devilated, we believe his health and safety comes first, we are continuing to reach out to Trunka’s family to offer our support and any assistance we can give. He has been an incredible developer to work with, and launching Devilated without him is truly heartbreaking, but ultimately we and his family feel that it is the right thing to do.
changedWe will, of course, keep you updated should anything change regarding this news, hopefully with tidings of his return to full health.
