changedRecently, after the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong , I saw a game filled with exquisite details, creative ideas, and fun gameplay. It boasts incredibly smooth controls and a surprisingly vast world. While I absolutely adore Hollow Knight: Silksong , I also deeply admire Team Cherry’s creativity and execution. I hope Deviator can also create some unique ideas and designs of its own.
changedSince the Early Access release, we have continued development with the goal of quickly completing the previously planned maps and levels. However, after finishing some parts, we found that the gameplay of these levels did not meet expectations. We couldn’t, in good conscience, release a complete level that we were unsatisfied with to players, so we have been constantly making adjustments.
addedBased on this, we have decided to revamp our development plan. Instead of rushing to complete the game, we will focus on redesigning new content and gameplay mechanics based on the existing foundation. We will experiment with new gameplay validations and will eventually share some reworked levels and combat mechanics for everyone to try. Thank you all for your patience and support.

A year ago, we promised an update plan, but so far, we have only delivered a small part of it. I am truly sorry for this. Today, I’d like to talk about the current state of Deviator and our plans for the future.

Currently, the continued development of Deviator is facing challenges. One reason is that all developers are working on it part-time, but that’s not the main issue. The primary reason is that we believe certain aspects of Deviator need to be re-evaluated and redesigned.

Recently, after the release of Hollow Knight

Silksong , I saw a game filled with exquisite details, creative ideas, and fun gameplay. It boasts incredibly smooth controls and a surprisingly vast world.

In terms of combat, we’ve encountered bottlenecks in developing the parry mechanics. The bosses we designed did not break free from the constraints of "turn-based parry mechanics." Some bosses are very difficult but lack a sense of exhilaration, resulting in a frustrating experience.

Based on this, we have decided to revamp our development plan. Instead of rushing to complete the game, we will focus on redesigning new content and gameplay mechanics based on the existing foundation.
