Game Update #3
Added Difficulty Settings when starting a new game, not dropping items on death is also an option
New late game weapon: Spectral Shotgun
Crafting Tab Reworked: when interacting with a crafting station, only the station's recipes will be displayed
Interaction HUD will properly display the name of crafting stations
The Dev's recommendation:
World: Easy & Character: Softcore is best suited for those who want to focus more on exploring the world and worry less about the danger level of enemies.
World: Normal & Character: Normal is the standard experience where enemies are a real danger.
World
Expert is just brutal. Most enemies will kill you with two shots, maybe more if you equip the right gear.
Combined with Character Difficulty
Softcore it will make the experience a bit smoother since you can get right back to action not having to worry about retrieving lost items.
But combined with Character Difficulty
Normal the player will be heavily punished for every single mistake.
