DesktopTaxi Free Demo Is Out — Your Desktop Companion

We're happy to share that the free demo of DesktopTaxi is now available on Steam.

Park a small window in the corner of your desktop, and a little taxi will quietly go about its business — picking up passengers, driving across its tiny city, and earning fares while you work, browse, or take a break.

We hope it becomes a calm, friendly presence on the edge of your screen.

What's in the demo

• Idle gameplay with garage upgrades (battery, fare, speed, acceleration)

• Skills unlocked by leveling up — including pushing your taxi back to a charger when the battery runs out

• Driver customization (hair, outfit, hat, shoes, accessories)

• A variety of passengers and a passenger logbook

• Day, night, and changing weather across the town

• Freely resizable window so it fits your workspace

• A cozy lofi soundtrack

The road to full release This demo gives you an early look at a slice of what the full game will offer.

We're hard at work expanding the world — more passengers, more areas, more customization options, and more skills are planned for the full release.

We'll also be taking part in Steam Next Fest in June 2026, so we hope you'll keep an eye out.
