Welcome to Kepler-10b pilot!

This is a lava world bathed in solar radiation where the daytime temperatures reach 1,400°C! The planet’s crust of silicates and iron boil on a molten ever changing surface. You wouldn’t want to step foot on this planet but the asteroids in orbit are rich in iron and valuable minerals.

Descent Vector Dev Update #1

Descent Vector is moving forward and this update is jam-packed with new visual updates!

Skybox, Asteroids, and Lighting

The skybox for the Kepler-10b level is complete and features a molten lava world at its centre with a red and purple emission nebula to set the mood in the background. With this comes reflection and lighting updates both brightening up the level and creating correct reflection shading for the environment.

Iron rich asteroids blanket the area just outside the space station corridor and they fly past as you progress through the mission. This provides a visual cue of progression through the space environment.

Explosions and Solar Panels

A new gameplay mechanic is now available providing a strategic option when in trouble. If in a pinch you can punch through a solar panel without being killed. You’ll take damage but it will get you out of a tight spot to keep flying. Fire and smoke effects accompany this feature and the screen glows in red on the edges for visual flare after performing this maneuver.

Space Music

The pumping background music for the Kepler-10b mission is now in place and featured in the above YouTube video. New ambient music has been added to the main menu with additional mission music on the way.

Menu Controller Support

Controller support is now in place on the menus to provide full support not just in gameplay but throughout the game.
