addedIn this update, we’ve smashed together both the Career Mode and the Grand Tour to give you a new way to unlock Parks, Slopestyles and Races! When you boot up the game, you’ll need to head out into Career Mode and find some new special locations on the map, then beat their objective. Be warned, some of them are tricky! Once you’ve smashed that objective, the level will appear in your Grand Tour list, outside of Career mode. Steam post image
addedTo make sure we keep you on your toes, there’s a lot more new content to unlock! All the biomes in Career now have at least one special location for you to find. My favourite is definitely the Refinery, where you can carve your way through an industrial setting with lots of pipes to grind, buildings to leap and crazy gaps to overcome! In the Grand Tour menu, you can find all the locations you've unlocked so far, beat extra challenges, unlock medals and trophies, and even play the locations at dusk and at night! Whichever maps you love, we’ve given you the tools to master. Now you just have to go out and send it! Steam post image
addedSpectating Mode in multiplayer Don't feel like doing a run yourself, but you want to hang with your friends and watch them play? You can now with our spectating mode in multiplayer. Choose to be a spectator in the multiplayer lobby menu, and sit back and enjoy the show!
changedLastly, we’ve got a skill challenge for you! If you’ve been enjoying jumping from extreme heights but not enjoying the leg-crushing landings, we’ve popped in a solution for you! Counter Pumping has made its way to Next to help you land softer on some of those harder jumps. Just give your right stick a flick with good timing, and your rider will be safe!

Counter Pumping

Lastly, we’ve got a skill challenge for you!

There's a lot of other minor features we've added, so here's the full changelog! Full Changelog:

Major Features:

  • Locations (Parks, Races, Slopestyles) in Career Mode

  • Grand Tour rework - unlock Locations by playing Career Mode

  • Spectate Mode in multiplayer

Minor Features:

  • New Park, Races and Slopestyles in Frozen Tundra, Ashen Vale, Coniferous Forest and Forgotten Temples

  • Counter pump landing impact: time a counter pump just before a landing to survive harder landing impacts

Added:

  • New Tutorial: Start Career

  • Slowmo when Wrecked

  • More gear to unlock

  • Objectives now look for Equal or More than Equal - for example: a 720 also counts for a 540 spin

  • Flags, banners and safety nets are now interactive and have better wind effect

  • New boss jump objectives after completing shortcuts

Fixed:

  • Cleaner looking world map in Career Mode

  • Tutorials can be replayed once again from the Extras Menu

  • First Person View general reliability improvements in PreGame and PostGame

  • ReplaySetup UI column/word adjustment

  • Objective UI text and progress bar should no longer overlap

There’s still so much to explore with Next. We’re so glad you’re having a great time with it! Enjoy the new locations, hanging out with your friends and some potentially softer landings, and we’ll see you Next time!
