Exciting news!
After resolving a number of technical issues with DemonCrawl, the game is once again available for purchase on Steam. Thank you to Valve for their assistance in these matters!
The latest version 1.97h is now available on all desktop platforms: Windows, Linux, and macOS.
To celebrate, we are offering a 50% discount for DemonCrawl and its DLC items between February 17th and the 24th.
Mobile remains on hiatus as we explore alternative distribution platforms. Android is likely to return before iOS, but we don't have a timeframe for either of these platforms as of yet.
A running list of fixes between versions 1.97c - 1.97h is provided below. About half of these issues were related to the recent runtime upgrade, while the other half had been affecting the game much longer. We are continuing to monitor our Discord server for bug reports.

Fixed a recursion issue related to Parting Gift and Gambler
Fixed missing "Downgrade" Arena mod string
Fixed a potential crash in Arena related to stage mod indexing
Fixed an issue that could cause toast alerts to linger indefinitely
Fixed a rare crash when opening a cell that could auto-activate and remove a newly spawned stranger before initialization finished (e.g. with Peddler arena mod)
Fixed a crash caused by invalid particle emitter references on certain loaded loot/landmarks (such as Mystic Statue, Token, and Meteorite)
Testing "Use legacy DXGI_SWAP_EFFECT_DISCARD" build option in latest GameMaker as a few users have reported unusual performance issues they weren't having before
Fixed an issue that could display repeated "String not found" alerts when Auramancer aura effects were triggered by large aura conversions (such as Electro Pulse)
Fixed an issue where correctly chording cells would not always advance chain length, which could cause inconsistent behavior for chain-based effects
Hardened profile repair when Steam is unavailable: the system now attempts local device-key backup recovery
Reworked fullscreen display mode switching to use GameMaker's native borderless fullscreen behavior on Windows/macOS, and gracefully disabled unsupported borderless mode on Linux
Fixed a crash where an Arena-themed sign landmark could appear in a normal Quest stage and fail while generating its message text
Fixed rare crashes where temporary object sprites were cleaned up before initialization (affecting some special chest interactions and item-location markers)
Fixed Burning aura overlay alignment on unopened cells so it renders centered instead of shifted toward the top-left
Fixed an Item Tree issue that could trigger a false-positive anticheat shutdown
Fixed a crash that could occur after dying in Item Tree and returning to menu
Fixed incorrect string for Ruins homeland effect
Issue related to bubble pop fallback logic
Arena Homeland mod purchases will now show up in your player panel immediately, rather than waiting for the next screen
Potential fix for crash that could occur when winning an Arena run while taking damage
Added safeguards in tweening library to prevent crashes related to non-existent surfaces
Fixed a rare crash related to background sprite change logic
Removed in-game links to Patreon per Valve's guidelines
