changedKeep the multiplier high Time spent not shooting hellspawn is time when the multiplier will be running down, so only divert from the bloody business in hand if you really need to. Don't wander about the arena just picking up supplies – pick your moment between waves or, ideally, do it while killing. Also, there are only six waves to survive in the demo, so you don't need to be too concerned with using the grapple to reach the health located on the arena's upper ledges.
changedLearn how enemies emerge at the start of each wave Some enemies emerge slowly from the fiery portal at the start of a wave and so can be picked off fairly easily for some multiplier-building/sustaining kills before they even have a chance to feast on your flesh. Just be sure to listen out for the clanking sound of any enemies spawning behind you – it can get pretty tight at the centre of the arena and you can be quickly overwhelmed if you're not paying attention.
changedHope some of that's useful. If you haven't tried the demo yet, it's still available to download from the Store page. The pit awaits – get in there and give them hell!
addedOh, and as ever, if you haven't added the game to your Wishlist, feel free to hit the widget below and do that now. All Wishlists really help and are much appreciated.

Been seeing some good action on the Demon Pit demo leaderboards, but it looks like players are having trouble breaking through the 100k score mark. So here are a few tips to help anyone struggling to reach those dizzying, point-based heights.

First up, give this video a watch, in which I just about manage to get over the 100k line with the penultimate kill:

Far from a perfect run – Wave 4 in particular could have been a lot sharper – but still good enough for a top five score at the time of playing. Anyway, here are a few basic pointers on how to slay the demonic hordes and pile up a healthy score in the process:

Keep the multiplier high Time spent not shooting hellspawn is time when the multiplier will be running down, so only divert from the bloody business in hand if you really need to. Don't wander about the arena just picking up supplies – pick your moment between waves or, ideally, do it while killing. Also, there are only six waves to survive in the demo, so you don't need to be too concerned with using the grapple to reach the health located on the arena's upper ledges.

Learn how enemies emerge at the start of each wave Some enemies emerge slowly from the fiery portal at the start of a wave and so can be picked off fairly easily for some multiplier-building/sustaining kills before they even have a chance to feast on your flesh. Just be sure to listen out for the clanking sound of any enemies spawning behind you – it can get pretty tight at the centre of the arena and you can be quickly overwhelmed if you're not paying attention.

Prioritise which enemies to target When you're getting the multiplier to x5, target lower scoring enemies first. Basic skull-head enemies are worth 1000 when the multiplier is at x5, while skeleton warriors are worth 2500 at x5. So, for example, on Wave 4 target skull heads to reach x5 multiplier, then turn your attention to skeleton warriors to really maximise your kill to score ratio.

Hope some of that's useful. If you haven't tried the demo yet, it's still available to download from the Store page. The pit awaits – get in there and give them hell!

Special mention goes to BOWSR and NOX – the only two players who have managed to pass the 110k mark. Excellent demon slaying!
