Repeated intro
Hello everyone! Here is the first article of a long series I hope on my game Demelia's Isle where I will share with you the progress of the development, on the ideas and concepts as well as the game mechanics.

Demelia's Isle changes
Today I'm going to talk about the global concepts of Demelia's Isle.
Exploration
I built the island of Demelia in an open world where I wanted you to be able to go wherever you want to go in order to encourage exploration and curiosity of the players. However, to fully explore this island and its multiple dungeons, your equipment and skills will need to be high enough to be able to face the various enemies.
Your character
You can customize your character physically, but statistically what will make it evolve will be : The equipment and weapons you can find during quests, the booty of defeated monsters, hidden chests etc... As you progress, you will gain levels that will allow you to unlock talent points that you can place in a skill tree.
Fights
The fights take place in the manner of an Action-Rpg. It is therefore up to you to position yourself correctly to be able to touch your enemies. Just like in the attack it is up to you to place your shield in the axis of the enemy's weapon to parry the blow. You also have the possibility to dodge. Attacking or dodging will make you consume energy, it is up to you to manage this energy to be as efficient as possible in combat.
Quests
The game starts on a beach where you have just washed up. Your first goal will be to equip yourself and survive. But the encounters you make will gradually immerse you in a quest against the demonic forces that are awakening again in this isolated kingdom.
Access to quests in Demelia's Isle revolves around your progress in the main quest that will begin on the beach and accompany you to the end of the game. As you progress, the world will evolve. New NPCs will appear and others will disappear, new dungeons will be accessible as well as new side quests that will also make certain parts of the world evolve. There is no choice in the dialogue phases at the moment.
Multiplayer
I really wanted to make an open world with the possibility to play cooperatively. In the multiplayer mode each player perceives the world according to their own progress, it allows you to play together even if you are not exactly at the same level. It also allows in a multiplayer session that the evolution of the players can be done simultaneously without limiting this progression only to the master of the session. However, the game is designed with the goal of progressing together. This mechanic can therefore have strange behaviors if your levels of progression are too far apart.
Demelia's Isle will soon be released in Pre-Alpha version. I sincerely hope to be able to make it evolve in the best possible way thanks to your feedback. Good game to all of you.
