changedThanks for checking out my 2021 game DELUGE, made in RPG Maker 2003. If you haven't noticed, I've recently updated the page to change the name, to "DELUGE 2003". For some it might have been a random decision, but today I get to formally explain why!
addedOver a year and a half ago, I took on the idea of rebuilding DELUGE as a new game. I had recently been developing a title, tentatively called "GENTLE", and using a later RPG Maker engine to do so. Another developer friend, UPRC, had recreated a handful of DELUGE maps in his fangame, so I used them as a foundation and began to build. Having learned a ton of new game development tips and tricks, this rebuild soon began to expand and I started to have way too much fun with it.
changedBefore I knew it, I had dumped the entire story, maps and scenes from the original version of the game into RPG Maker MZ — combat aside. I had a feeling I'd want to try something different for that part, so I held off and created a few concepts. The game took shape from there.

Fast forward to gaining the combat and overworld programming support of my good friend Gimmer, a functional and stylish menu designed by another great friend, Narcodis, as well as pixel art by BD Bandkanon (also friend and good), and the combat system came alive!

Anyway, all of that to say... I ended up redoing a ton of scenes. Then we got accepted to feature at TooManyGames, a massive game convention right outside of Philadelphia, this year.

Before I knew it, the new game took on a personality of its own:
