This title is a completely original indie game developed almost entirely by a single creator, who also works as a pharmacist in his day job. Programming, graphics, scenario, and game design have all been handled by Nakamura alone.

A passionate fan of the Game Boy and Famicom versions of “Tetris”, Nakamura set out to create a kind of “spiritual successor” with his own hands. After around half a year of development, this lifelong dream has finally taken shape as DELTARIS.

A Falling-Block Puzzle About “Creating” with Triangles

Stack, clear, and generate powerful “Delta Force” blocks

The most distinctive feature of DELTARIS is its entirely new falling-block puzzle system built around triangle-shaped pieces.

Players do more than simply align blocks to clear lines. By intentionally creating triangular gaps on the board, they can generate a special auto-created block called “Delta Force.”

When a line containing Delta Force is cleared, a powerful special attack called “Delta Attack” is unleashed, dealing damage to enemies. Because board management and battles progress at the same time, players can enjoy a brand-new style of falling-block gameplay that combines the exhilaration and tension of “creating in order to attack.”

DELTARIS is more than a simple puzzle game where players compete for high scores. Enemy characters each have their own HP, and your puzzle actions themselves become your means of attack, creating a uniquely RPG-like battle experience.

The story follows Delru, a young girl who inherits the power of the triangles known as “Delta Force,” and Mikage, a feline general. Along the way, characters inspired by fairy tales and myths—such as the princess of the Dragon Palace, Princess Kaguya, Little Red Riding Hood, and Cinderella—appear as foes, having been corrupted by a mysterious substance known as “Cursed Ink.”

A Surprisingly Varied Lineup of Modes

A rich amount of content to enjoy solo or with a friend

Despite being an indie title, DELTARIS offers a wealth of different game modes:

• ENDLESS Mode A classic endless mode where you aim for the highest possible score. Features 30 different enemies, with a second loop after defeating them all, and 16 BGM tracks that play at random.

• DELTA Mission Mode (12 stages total) A stage-based mode where defeating the enemy clears the stage. Each stage has different fall speeds and garbage block heights. Enemies also counterattack with additional garbage blocks as you clear lines.

• LINE Mission Mode (12 stages total) Clear 25 lines to complete each stage. Fall speeds and garbage block configurations vary by stage.

• Puzzle Mode (12 stages total) A logical puzzle mode where you must clear specific lines using only pre-given pieces. Designed for players who enjoy carefully thinking through each move.

• STORY Mode (12 stages total) Experience the story of Delru across 12 stages as she journeys to save a world tainted by Cursed Ink.

• LESSON Mode (12 stages total) A tutorial mode where Delru gently guides players from basic mechanics to advanced techniques. Clearing up to Stage 6 unlocks the game’s main modes.

• 2P Battle Mode An offline local versus mode. Make strategic use of character-specific support items to battle against friends in tense head-to-head matches.

• BONUS Mode A set of ultimate challenge stages unlocked after clearing DELTA Mission, LINE Mission, PUZZLE, STORY, and LESSON modes. Designed for players seeking the most difficult content the game has to offer.

Developer’s Comment (Nakamura)

“I always wanted to create a spiritual successor to the Game Boy and Famicom versions of Tetris with my own hands. With DELTARIS, I’ve tried to revive that classic feeling—the controls, the sound effects, the thrill of clearing lines—while adding a new layer of ‘creative enjoyment’ on top.

For the sound effects, I worked with a professional composer and recreated NES-style chiptune sounds through programming. These effects are designed to enhance the excitement of every move you make.

It may feel difficult at first, but once you manage to create a huge Delta Force with your own strategy and deal massive damage, I believe you’ll truly understand what makes this game fun. I would be delighted if many players give DELTARIS a try.”

Nakamura – Developer Profile

While currently working as a professional pharmacist, Nakamura independently develops the game DELTARIS as a solo creator. In the past, he has also worked as a music producer, contributing to more than 100 anime and game music productions for major companies.

The sense of structure he cultivated through music production, along with the expressive skills he refined in the animation industry, now form the foundation of his creative philosophy— “entertaining people through creativity.” These influences are deeply reflected in the world design, game tempo, and overall experience of DELTARIS.
