Hello Miners,

We’re cracking open something new for the upcoming Heavy Duty Expansion in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Say hello to the Egg Hunt mission!

Veterans of Deep Rock Galactic might recognize the name… but don’t get too comfortable. This isn’t your standard bug egg scramble.

A New Kind of Egg Hunt

In the first stages of a dive, you’ll be gathering alien eggs scattered across the caves of Hoxxes, but instead of hauling them yourself, Bosco will help you carry them to the cargo pod. Your job? Stay alive and keep the operation running.

Once the quota is met, you’ll get a short grace period. Think fast: Do you push your luck and collect extra eggs for bonus rewards, or play it safe and prepare for what’s coming next?

On the final stage of a dive, once you deliver the last egg, you’ll trigger something ancient and vile: The Brood Nexus.

The Brood Nexus Awakens

As the last egg hits the pod, a Brood Nexus erupts directly on top of it, locking down your exit.

This stationary boss fight evolves through multiple phases. The Brood Nexus continuously spawns waves of enemies, and at critical health thresholds, it grows Nexus Sprouts. These must be destroyed before you can deal damage to the main body again. No running. No escaping. Just you, your build, and a cave full of angry bugs.

Unlike the classic Egg Hunt in Deep Rock Galactic, which flows from point A → B → C, the DRG:S version introduces a star-shaped pattern. Eggs are collected and delivered back to a central cargo pod, so you’ll constantly branch outward and return. This means positioning and route planning become extra important.

Sharpen your pickaxes, stock up on firepower, and maybe… just maybe… don’t get too greedy during that grace period.

With the Demolisher Class, that’s two out of the three major features of our upcoming DLC revealed. The Heavy Duty Expansion launches on April 30th. Wishlist now!
