Hello everyone!
Let me introduce myself: I’m Xavi Albors, developer of DeepLoop and founder of the video game development company Spurna Games. I was born in Barcelona in 1975, and since I was very young, I’ve been passionate about video games, especially the development behind them.
Throughout my career, I’ve focused on graphic engine development and visual tools. However, I’ve always dreamed of creating and publishing my own video game. That’s why, two years ago, I decided to embark on the development of my first personal project: DeepLoop.
What is DeepLoop?
DeepLoop is a very special project to me. It’s an adventure that explores the seven deadly sins through different game mechanics. My goal is to tell a unique story, blending gameplay and narrative in an immersive way.
So far, I’ve completed part of the core gameplay, along with several mechanics, menu systems, inventories, and save game management. Regarding the deadly sins, Wrath is 100% finished, while Pride is at 90%. Both will be featured in the demo, which I hope to release in early 2025.
A more cinematic approach
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on the game’s dialogues, particularly the camera behavior. I’ve decided to give them a more cinematic approach, as all dialogues have evolved into narrative monologues.
This brings me to a key decision in DeepLoop: the dialogues will be narrated by the protagonist, Aileen. While in the Pride sin, the player can control any character they find, which would have significantly multiplied the voiceover costs. Turning the dialogues into monologues allowed me to solve this challenge while maintaining narrative immersion.
Meet Aileen
Aileen is your main character, and while I can’t reveal much about her without spoiling important parts of the story, I can assure you she will be your guide on this intense journey through the sins.
What’s next?
Once the voices are finalized in both Spanish and English, I’ll begin the internal playtesting phase, where a limited group of people will get to try out the demo. This step is crucial to ensure everything works smoothly before making it public.
I hope this update has helped you get a better sense of the journey I’m taking with DeepLoop. Thank you for your support, and don’t hesitate to follow our social media to stay updated.
See you next time!
