addedDemo ImprovementsTo address this, in the latest version of the Demo enemy movement speed has been significantly reduced across the board. This opened up far more build options in our own internal playtesting sessions, and we even took some time to try it out with players completely new to Decked Out with positive results.

We've been hard at work getting things ready for our Early Access launch and improving our Demo to make sure it lands just right.

Demo Improvements

Diving into the feedback we've recieved so far, it was clear that combat pacing was still far too chaotic, putting people off building deck that was oriented around zone control (such as Orbs builds).

To address this, in the latest version of the Demo enemy movement speed has been significantly reduced across the board. This opened up far more build options in our own internal playtesting sessions, and we even took some time to try it out with players completely new to Decked Out with positive results.

Additionally, as we've refined the core loop - some card designs that used to make sense no longer do. So we've taken a moment to rework some of the outliers (and we'll continue to do so as we approach Early Access)

The old volcano just wasn't hitting right, adding it to the field felt more like a chore than a legendary power play. Now, Volcanos stay on the field between nights, but you can only have a maximum of 3 - meaning once you've played them, they're adding permanent power for the rest of the run.

By the time you accessed Entropy, your resource problems were often a thing of the past. With the new copy you get to completely break one of Decked Out's rules and never worry about waiting for a reshuffle again. When paired with high draw speeds - this can get pretty insane.

What's Next?

So what can you expect in the first Early Access version?

  • A brand new Class with their own unique Cards, Artifacts and Gems

  • More Wizard Cards, Artifacts and Gems

  • New Mini-Game Combat Events

  • More Town Hall Events

  • Mid-Run Saves

  • More Quests and Unlockables

  • Achievements

Of course we'll be going into more detail in the devlogs leading up to our release date too! So you can look forward to a deeper dive then.

And that does it for this devlog! Thank you so much to everyone who has tried and continues to try out the Demo. We're really happy with the response so far and can't wait to keep building this game for you!

Stay Decked Out
