DeathSprint 66 changes
Thank you all for playing DEATHSPRINT 66 and your continued support.
Today we are releasing our fourth major update – “ Ashen ” – which brings plenty of exciting new content to the game, all for free!
First up are three brand new maps set in a whole new biome: Scorched, Caldera, and Meltdown. These maps are burning hot – literally – and feature our new Flamethrower trap.
To celebrate these new maps there will be an extended feature playlist event running from 6pm (GMT) today until 6pm (GMT) on Monday, 17th February.
That’s not all, as we are also introducing a brand-new ability: The Ad Spammer. Disorient the other racers by subjecting them to the visual noise that is advertisements.
Finally, we have the brand-new Response racing suit, several new banners, and an increase to the Awards level cap from 40 to 50, offering players plenty of new levels and rewards to earn.
Make sure to read the full patch notes below, as there are plenty more fixes and tweaks to be found in this update.
Update 4 will be going live at 2pm GMT, so there may be a brief interruption in play. You will need to restart Steam and download the update when it goes live.
Patch Notes:
Abilities:
Added the Ad Spammer ability.
Dev Comment: “The newest ability to join the line-up gives you the chance to impair other players’ vision. When used, all others on the track will be temporarily subject to a bombardment of onscreen adverts, pop ups, jingles, and more. This will limit their visibility on the race, but the most skilled jockeys should be able to carry on. Should.”
Added new voice lines to provide more feedback on incoming abilities from other players. Fixed an issue where the ability icon on the back of a player would display incorrectly. Fixed an issue where a player may not be granted an ability when passing over a tribute while using the Mag Shield in the Shield for All event playlist. Balance pass of the Enraged Charge ability.
Dev Comment: “We’ve taken a long look at the Enraged Charge and made several adjustments to improve its behavior and make it a more reliable option. Now, when using the Enraged Charge, players will follow the track on a more fixed line. To facilitate this, we have strongly reduced player’s input while using the Enraged Charge and disabled the option to drift. Furthermore, we now check if there is a trap in front of you before ending Enraged Charge to ensure you don’t immediately wipe out. All together, we think this makes Enraged Charge a more reliable option to catch up to the front of the pack. As always, we welcome your feedback on these changes.”
Maps:
Added the maps Scorched, Caldera, and Meltdown to the PvP map rotation. Dev Comment: “With our newest maps we wanted to go the extra mile and deliver some of the most challenging tracks to date all with a completely new visual style. Set in a new biome, each map will test players’ skills as they try to find that ideal race line. All that fire isn’t just for show, as these maps feature our new Flamethrower trap that will make quick
