Death's Life changes
Umbu Games has just revealed Death's Life 2, the long awaited sequel to the dark puzzle game Death's Life. The debut comes ten years after the release of the original, and arrives as a significant evolution - a direct result of a decade of learning in indie game development.
In Death's Life 2, you once again take on the role of Death itself. Your goal is to collect souls by creating deadly chain reactions, manipulating the environment through truly macabre Rube Goldberg-style scenarios. Each level functions as a lethal sandbox where the solution is rarely unique.

What to expect from Death’s Life 2?
Multiple ways to solve every scenario
The game rewards both efficiency and creativity. Each stage offers multiple solutions: some straightforward, others hidden and far more challenging to discover. Whether you prefer finding the most efficient path or experimenting with chaotic ideas, the game encourages creativity and replayability through its open-ended puzzle design.
Two games in one: Classic Mode vs. Escape Room Mode
One of the biggest new features is the division into two distinct modes:
Classic Mode (Death)
Experience the essence of the original game as you play as Death in an isometric top-down view, planning chain reactions and collecting souls.
First-Person Escape Room Mode (Survivor)
For the first time in the franchise, players fight against Death instead of controlling it. Trapped inside deadly rooms designed by Death itself, survivors must solve environmental puzzles, avoid lethal traps, and find a way to escape.
A game that doesn't take itself 100% seriously (but respects your intelligence)
Death’s Life 2 blends dark humor, genuine challenge, and replayability. The game is built around experimentation and unexpected outcomes, constantly creating those “Wait… I didn’t even know you could do that” moments that are perfect for streams, clips, and sharing with friends.
C urrently in development, Death’s Life 2 will be released in July 2026 for PC, with a free demo coming soon.
