We want to share a first update on a new mode we’ve been working on for a while: Horde Mode.

This mode is still under active development, and we’re experimenting with different ideas, so consider this a behind-the-scenes look rather than a final feature announcement.

Core idea

Horde Mode will be playable:

  • solo

  • in co-op

The focus is on survival: endless waves of enemies, increasing pressure, and very little room to breathe.

Roguelike… or roguelite?

We’re currently exploring a roguelike / roguelite structure (we’re still figuring out where it will land).

At the end of each round, players will face optional challenges:

  • completing them grants power-ups

  • or temporary advantages

  • or modifiers that affect future waves

The goal is to create meaningful risk-reward decisions:

play it safe, or push harder to get stronger?

First map: Junkwood

The first map we’re actively working on is Junkwood.

Junkwood is a no-man’s-land, contested by the most powerful cities: Perfectia, Metroil, and J-City.

None truly controls it.

Beneath the ruins lie extremely valuable, mysterious relics from an ancient civilization, left behind before the world moved on. The zone is deadly, filled with unstable wreckage and rogue scrap, and only small, reckless private reconnaissance teams dare enter it in search of these forgotten artifacts.

Surviving longer in Junkwood means facing a world that changes with you:

  • the environment feels dirty, improvised, and built from scrap

  • early enemies are crude and unstable, assembled from junk

  • as the rounds progress, enemies become more technologically advanced

    • better armor

    • stronger weapons

    • more aggressive behavior

We want progression to be felt visually, not just through numbers.

"Early Junk minion prototype"

This mode is still taking shape and many things may change, but we wanted to start bringing you along for the journey. As always, feedback and ideas are more than welcome 🤍 We’ll share more details, clips, and concrete info soon.
