Dead Fibers changes
Hi everyone,
I want to share a transparent update about the current Dead Fibers demo and explain why it only includes the firing range, rather than the full demo map that was originally planned.
As many of you know, Dead Fibers is being developed entirely by me as a solo developer. I’ve been working on the game for over a year now, building it during evenings and weekends alongside my full-time job.
A few weeks before Steam Next Fest, I was on track to finalize the planned demo level. However, at that time, my employer required urgent delivery of a major project. Since my full-time job supports both my livelihood and the continued development of Dead Fibers, I had to prioritize that commitment.
Despite the setback, I didn’t want to miss Steam Next Fest or leave you without anything to play—especially after announcing that a demo would be available. Rather than cancel the release entirely, I decided to publish a smaller version of the demo focused on the firing range. This allows you to test weapons, movement, gadgets, and core mechanics while I complete the full demo experience.
What’s Next?
The full demo level is still coming.
I plan to update the demo by the end of March 2026, adding the intended map so you can experience Dead Fibers the way it was meant to be played—with atmosphere, tension, and gameplay systems working together in a real scenario.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. Developing a game solo is a challenging journey, but your interest and feedback make it worthwhile.
If you’re excited about the project, please consider wishlisting Dead Fibers and be ready to play the updated demo at the end of March 2026.
More updates soon.
