Dead as Disco changes
Hey Disco Crew!
Your words:"When's the next update?"Our Response: Right now! A New song, New arena, New enemies, New Cosmetics, New dance moves, Fresh leaderboards, and a ton of other improvements!
This is our first big needle drop since we launched Early Access a month ago. Built from your reports, your feedback, and your frankly unreasonable high scores. The first two hotfixes warmed up the crowd, now it's time for the headline act. In addition we're celebrating with an extended 3 week sale. We will be bringing back the 20% off launch discount starting Thursday June 18th 2026. The party will roll right through Steam Summer Sale and end on Thursday July 9th 2026. Now onto the details for first stop of our Summer Flames Tour!
New on the Setlist
"Versus" by Dex takes the stage! Beat the new Versus Challenge to unlock a new record, and the brand new Mind's Eye arena. Clear it with 2 stars or more and there is a new outfit with your name on it. One Challenge, three rewards. Get in there and mix it up! Steam post image
Fresh Faces in the Pit
Elite Surging Echoes have joined the Tour, and they did not come to be polite. Harder to hit, and packing new moves of their own they're here to shred. Yes, you can spawn them in Custom Challenges. Yes, we want to see what you do with that. The Versus Challenge also debuts Super Armored Enemies, extra health, zero flinch they will be a much tougher nut to crack. We haven't added them to Custom Challenges yet, but they will be next update. Tell us how they feel. We're listening. Steam post image
A Step Up for Custom Challenges
We've written a love letter to everyone bending Custom Challenges into beautiful nonsense:
Challenge Playlists are live. String Challenges together, Normal, Custom, any order, and see how many you can take down back to back. Works just like Free Play Playlists. Build the gauntlet. Break your friends. (Send us the clips.)
Tunable Modifiers. The new Mods section lets you dial in your Challenge: enemy damage multipliers, enemy health, Fever bars, Takedown tokens, Fever generation speed, hearts, and max caps on all of it. Your rules. Your fight.
Arena Swapping is back in Infinite Disco! You can swap dynamically in Free Play on a round count, a hotkey, or on Takedowns. Creators, this one's for you!
Enjoy the new toys, and let us know what you want to see next...
Bust a Move (On Purpose)
We've added Dance Moves to the cosmetics menu, where they can be unlocked and assigned to one of 4 inputs (1–4 on keyboard, d-pad on controller). Leave a slot empty and Charlie will rock a random unlocked dance instead. Is there a move that kills your groove? Then just remove it from the rotation via the cosmetics menu. Some moves from the old random pool now need unlocking, but we've added a bunch of new ones to chase too. Key bindings for Dance Moves have also been updated so the Pause screen and Move List now match. Steam post image
Fresh Slate, Cleaner Boards
All of the leaderboards have been reset. With the gameplay changes in this update, everyone starts from zero, and we've increased anti-cheat protection, because you told us the boards mattered and we agree. The race for the top starts now. We've also added a setting to hide leaderboards entirely if you just play for the flow.
Tuning the Mix
Balance changes drawn straight from how you're actually playing:
- Singularitydamage after launch reduced; flat score bonus decreased; full-charge time increased; score is now awarded on black hole release rather than on reaching charge level
