changedDevelopment Report by Grennelli DesignsGrinnelli Designs continues to showcase progress on the upcoming DCS: F-100D Super Sabre , this time highlighting the aircraft’s AN/APR-25 Radar Homing and Warning system. Designed to detect radar energy, the AN/APR-25 provides both visual and audio cues to help identify and react to potential threats. Radar contacts appear on the azimuth scope as directional lines, giving pilots critical situational awareness in the heat of combat. Steam post image To bring the experience to life, the Grinnelli team has developed a custom RHAW audio synthesizer that recreates the unique character of early radar warning systems, with each radar emitting distinct tones, buzzes, rattles, and warning cues based on scan patterns, pulse behaviour, modulation, and beam width. The result is a tense and immersive Cold War-era cockpit environment where the AN/APR-25 feels noisy, imperfect, and alive, capturing the atmosphere and pressure of early radar-guided air combat in DCS: F-100D Super Sabre. addedBy Matt ‘Wags’ Wagner Steam post imageIn this latest DTC update video , Matt ‘Wags’ Wagner walks through several new features that will be delivered with the May 2026 Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) for the DCS: F-16C Viper and DCS: F/A-18C . The video demonstrates how mission creators and players can use the expanded DTC functionality to create substantially more immersive and realistic avionics settings in both single-player and multiplayer missions. Steam post image For the DCS: F-16C , the video covers the new Geo Lines, Threat Points, and Destination Points features. Wags explains how Geo Lines can be used to create reference lines and operational boundaries directly on the HSD and HAD pages. Threat Points allow mission planners to pre-brief known surface-to-air threat locations with customizable rings and labels, while Destination Points provide quick-reference navigation locations such as airfields, fixes, and orbit points. The tutorial also demonstrates how these features are configured in the Mission Editor and later accessed and filtered in the cockpit. Steam post image The second half of the video focuses on new Situational Awareness (SA) DTC options for the DCS: F/A-18C . This includes CAP Points, Corridors, FAOR/FLOT lines, Missile Engagement Zone threats, and expanded SA Page Settings. Wags explains how these tools can help organize airspace responsibilities, define safe ingress and egress routes, visualize front lines, and tailor SA page declutter and datalink presentation settings before entering the mission. The video also demonstrates the process of importing and loading SA partitions in-flight using the aircraft’s MUMI pages.

DCS: F-14 Tomcat

Early Access Completion Steam post image

From the Heatblur Simulations HQ:

We are pleased to announce that the next update for the DCS: F-14 Tomcat by Heatblur Simulations will mark a major milestone: The F-14A/B will be leaving Early Access.

Since its initial release, the Heatblur F-14 has grown into one of the most expansive aircraft modules in DCS. What began as a deeply researched recreation of the F-14A and F-14B has continued to grow over the years with JESTER AI, two-seat multiplayer, the Forrestal-class aircraft carrier, extensive mission and campaign content, additional aircraft configurations, visual refinements, A-6E Intruder AI, and a long list of systems improvements.

This update will deliver the remaining major features for the F-14A/B, and it will further expand the historical breadth of the Tomcat family.

A major highlight is the introduction of the F-14A Export variant, adding another important configuration to the module and broadening the Tomcat's representation beyond its U.S. Navy service. This update also adds the AIM-7E Sparrow and basic TARPS functionality with the KS-87D camera that will allow players to explore the Tomcat’s important reconnaissance role. Steam post image A significant focus of this update is visual and configuration accuracy across the F-14A family. The aircraft has received a substantial set of external model additions and options that enable a more faithful representation of various Tomcat blocks, service periods, and configurations. These include glove vanes, early gun vents, ALQ-126 blisters, TCS bullet and round covers, the missing small antenna on the TCS, and external model support for aircraft configured with or without TCS.

Together with additional early F-14A liveries, the historical authenticity and visual variety of the module is significantly improved. From early fleet aircraft to export configurations and later-service details, the Tomcat’s evolving shape and character can now be represented with greater fidelity than ever before.

As part of this milestone, the remaining campaign roadmap has also been reviewed. Because the F-14 has received substantial additional content since its original launch, including additional missions and campaigns like Operation Reforger II, Heatblur has decided to move the dedicated Persian Gulf early F-14A campaign to a post-release date. We apologize for this change and understand that some of you have been looking forward to it. The decision allows the campaign to receive the attention, polish it deserves, rather than rushing it into this final pre-release milestone.

The F-14A/B leaving Early Access does not mark the end of Tomcat development. It marks the completion of the original core module roadmap and the beginning of the next chapter for the Tomcat family in DCS.

We thank you all for your very kind patience and for walking this incredible journey with us. Stay tuned as more news about the state of the F-14B/U will follow shortly.

Yours sincerely,

Heatblur Simulations

Thank you again for your passion and support.

Yours sincerely,

Eagle Dynamics
