Days of War: Definitive Edition changes
The next closed beta weekend is about to go live.
The first beta weekend went great. Servers were stable, the game was more stable and performant than its ever been, and most importantly we were able to collect in game data and survey responses from thousands of players on how to improve the game.
We've used this and other feedback from our Official Discord channel to make changes for this second beta weekend.
After addressing some of this feedback and seeing some initial positive reactions, we've never been more excited about the state of the game and where we know we can take it.
There will be another survey this time, thanks in advance to everyone who fills it out.
Weapon balance, recoil, and movement have all had significant changes. Read below for the full changelog.

Gameplay
Overhauled movement (speed/acceleration/friction)
Removed limit on vertical recoil and redesigned recoil for automatic weapons
Removed crosshair reseting after firing automatics
Weapon damage rebalanced, Supports are now more powerful, a few rate of fire tweaks
Fixed a bug where movement was not penalizing rifle shots, moving and shooting is much less effective now
Fixed a bug on the snipers where FOV zoom was too slow
Sniper scope time increased
Changed default vertical mouse sensitivity to be 1:1 with horizontal
Fixed an issue where flag caps are counted during warmup
Jumping now consumes stamina,
Fixed issues with quickswitching on sniper
Increased the size of grenades 25% to be more visible in the world (physics still need polish)
Grenade throwing tweaked
Dropped weapons have stronger throw
Bots capture flags less often now, but will help you capture two man flags better
Fixed issue where sniper couldn't scope, shoot, quick switch, scope
Reduced jump velocity 10% to reduce hang time in air when sprint + jumping
Increased size of bullet impact decals
Maps
Exploits across all maps patched
Route changes to Riverbed
Redesigned parts of Railyard to tighten up sightlines, create more choke points and give Allies more advantage
Proper minimap for Railyard added
Audio
Fixed issue where footsteps behind you would not play (enemy and friendly)
Rebuilt 3p sound mix (relative volumes)
Fixed bug where many guns 3p sounds were playing at lower volume (most notable mp40 and thompson)
Fixed bug where kar98 3p sound was playing thompson 3p sound
Fixed issues where at 32 players many sounds were not playing.
Increased gunshot and footsteps audible range
Adjusted sound falloff over distance curves for both guns and footsteps
Lowered death sound volume
“Point captured” sound now plays 3p instead of 1p
Sniper scope sound adjusted
Added panting noise on low stamina
UI
Minimap can now scale using + and – on numpad
Fixed an issue with victory screen not having black bars on wide screen monitors
Camera bob is now off by default
Fixes for non 16:9 resolutions
Thrown rifle grenades showing properly in kill feed
Enter, Backspace and Esc keys now bindable
Sprays and taunts now apply globally
Mouse accel option added
New chat messages shouldnt bring you to bottom of chat
Hardware detection fixed in Video settings
Issues with picked up grenades fixed
Fixed bug with enter key assignment
