The Legendary Stories Contest Begins!

Listen up, Dark Lords!

Lay down your sword and arm yourself with the mightiest weapon of all—your brilliantly twisted mind. The story-writing competition has started! You’re in for not just cash prizes, but also fame, honor, and a chance to etch your name in history (or at least in our game).

How to join the fray?

• Settle into your throne, delve into the depths of your imagination, and bring your ideas to life. Before you begin, ensure you're familiar with the competition's rules and guidelines detailed below.

• Submit your masterpieces in .twee format together with the name of your work, its short description (up to 600 characters) and your Discord tag to community@longtalegames.com with the subject ‘Dark Lord Contest’ before February 11.

• Once submitted, take pride in your work and await the results.

Prizes galore

Your stories can span any genre—dramatic, comedic, mystical, or even meme-inspired. The authors of the best tales will be rewarded handsomely:

1st Place: $1000 2nd Place: $750 3rd Place: $500

Bonus: Your story featured in the game for all to see!

Additionally, special $50 cash incentives are up for grabs to ensure no hidden gem goes unnoticed.

Competition guidelines

• Submissions are accepted exclusively via community@longtalegames.com

• Format: Diagrams in Twine. Requirements for the format of the work and instructions for preparation can be found here.

• And here is a quick guide to converting your idea into a game story.

• Entries must have a minimum of 30 cards and 15 steps along the shortest path, each with a situation description and two choice options. Don't forget to choose an avatar for each card and choose a picture.

• Each participant may submit up to 5 stories, but only one can claim a prize.

• Only original works crafted specifically for this contest are eligible.

• By entering, you agree that if your story wins, it may be used for marketing, advertising, or other related purposes.
