Greetings, everyone!

This is Garu, and welcome to our February–March update.

These past two months have been incredibly productive for us. We made significant progress across our projects — especially toward the end of March, leading into early April as I’m writing this.

Dragon System Integrated

One of the biggest additions is that we’ve successfully integrated the dragon models and controls from Dragon Odyssey into Dark Island.

This means we’re bringing one of the best features from DO — dragon riding — directly into the main game.

  • We are currently using the Kuzan model, the fastest dragon from DO

  • The new camera system is highly dynamic, making traversal feel smooth and immersive

  • Riding the dragon — both in the main world and in the new dungeon — feels amazing

New Dungeon – Early Development

We’re also planning a brand-new dungeon, which will play a major role in our upcoming demo.

  • This dungeon is large in scale

Steam post image(Planning of the initial part of the dungeon)

  • Currently in Stage 1 out of 5 of development.

  • Designed to showcase multiple gameplay systems, including the dragon

(This map is going to be the same size as the main island)

  • Learning Stone, which helps new players understand and learn the game’s controls, since we don’t yet have a proper tutorial implemented, and we intend of using this as the tutorial. Steam post image(This is the stone on and off)

We’re actively building it right now as part of our new engine pipeline, which will allow us to finally release a demo on Steam. At the end of this month, we’ll be participating in Gamescom LATAM. We want to make sure that after the event, you’ll be able to play the demo yourselves. See Ya Everyone!
