It’s been a while since our last announcement—so here’s one for you!
I haven’t posted any update notes in about a month, but that doesn’t mean development has slowed down. You might be wondering what’s been improved during this time, so here’s a summary of what we’ve been up to!
A Quick Word on the Full Release
I’m currently working steadily on Chapter 3 of the full version, and we’ll soon move into Chapter 4 development. As for the release date—let’s just say aiming for a launch before the end of the year might be a bit tight (please don’t hate meːisaacː). That said, I’ll do my best to deliver it as soon as possible. It won’t be too long now!
So, What’s New in the Demo Over the Past Month?
Meet the Blackie
Say hello to these super cute, dark little creatures! They thrive in bright homes and will continuously venture out to gather resources for you.
New Auto-Pickup System for Loot
Gone are the days of two-step resource gathering! Previously, collecting resources required:
Clicking the “Gather” button.
Moving your cursor over the dropped items to pick them up.
But after endless contemplation, countless sunsets, and losing about 20kg of hair—I had an epiphany: Why make players perform two actions for one simple task?
Introducing the brand-new Auto-Pickup System! Not only is it super convenient—it looks cool too! Items now fly directly into your cabin.
(Yeah, the GIF doesn’t really do it justice due to the low frame rate, but trust me—it’s satisfying.)
Wondering what exactly you’re picking up? No worries! Notifications now appear in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Important New Unit: The Transmuter
The Transmuter is a special structure that draws endless energy from the darkness and converts it into specific resources.
Why is it such a game-changer? Because it seriously amps up the fun factor. Imagine building multiple Transmuters, churning out resources non-stop, while that satisfying “ding” sound keeps playing as items fill your backpack. Pure bliss~
Other Improvements & Tweaks
Added German language support.
Significantly reduced difficulty in Chapter 1.
Light Towers now consume fuel at a slower rate.
Added keyboard shortcuts for actions like gathering—way more convenient!
The Dark Ability “Owl’s Eye” is now a Tier 1 ability.
Reduced food resources in Chapter 2’s wilderness.
Updated icons for several Dark Abilities.
Polished tutorials and improved various details across the game.
More sound effects —because cool sounds make everything better.
🐞 Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where rapidly clicking a certain button could cause the game to freeze.
Fixed a bug in Chapter 1 where Dark Vortices could displace Lumina Ore nodes.
Fixed visual clipping issues in certain background elements.
Resolved a bug where Altar abilities remained active even after the Altar was destroyed.
