During the Early Access period, we created new contents, we've refined and improved various aspects of the gameplay, enhanced accessibility for controllers and Steam Deck, and much more. That said, the 1.0 update contains:
Spellbook Level (new system):
The Spellbook Level is a global progression system based on the spells that you have mastered.
Each upgraded spell grants XP to the Book.
The book has its own level, separate from the character.
The more spells you unlock and level up, the higher the level of the Spellbook.
At specific levels in the Spellbook (25, 50, 75, and 100), you unlock permanent global bonuses, such as: global damage, luck, rerolls, etc…
New Item System:
We've changed the arcane trait system to an item system, where items are obtained randomly from a chest dropped by elites and mini-bosses. In addition, we've added new items to the game.
Final Map:
In this new map, players will face a different challenge: instead of enemies of a single element, monsters of multiple elements will appear, requiring more strategic builds and constant adaptation. In addition, starting at arcane tier 7, the player will have to avoid environmental hazards that will appear randomly across the map, forcing them to adapt their routes.
And at the end of this journey, a legendary enemy awaits you, Dachs the Terrible. Defeating him will not be easy, but those who manage to prove their worth will unlock the exclusive Steam achievement "Dachs Hunter".
Upgrades Selection:
Few things have changed on the upgrades selections:
It is now possible to banish unwanted upgrades that appear..
Tags have been added to spell cards, displaying details such as element, if it has knockback, whether it's an AOE or projectile spell, etc...
The spell level in the spellbook is now also displayed in the upgrade selection.
Start Map:
The menu when entering in a map has been modified to display details about the arcane tier such as enemies modifiers, loot modifiers, as well as random tips that appear each time the menu is displayed.
Balancing:
The elemental restriction in the game has been removed; from now on, it's possible to use spells of all elements together. However, the elemental system still works, so if the player chooses a spell of the character's element, they will still gain an additional damage bonus.
Now the player doesn't start the map with pre-selected spells, having to select them when leveling up during the game. The 4 common spells of each element are already unlocked, and the rare and legendary spells will still have to be unlocked by the player.
The damage dealt when upgrading spells has been rearranged, rebalancing it in conjunction with the spellbook level, since the player will not always be able to use the spells they have upgraded.
The number of monsters that spawn in the first few minutes of the game has been changed, as well as their HP, since the player now starts with only the basic attack.
The "arcane tier" difficulty system is now based on the player's spellbook level.
The HP of the Giant Spider, as well as its nests, has been reduced.
The Dachs Minion's HP was reduced because it was becoming too difficult to prevent him from escaping.
The number of summons that the special "summoner" enemy spawns has been reduced and limited.
Reduced damage dealt by ranged monsters.
Access to the Scroll Exchanger has been changed. Now the player needs to drop 100 scrolls to unlock it.
Movement is now allowed while casting the Electric Charge spell.
Removed the early shrine that spawned in the first 5 seconds.
The amount of pickup radius that can be increased in the portal room has been reduced.
Improvements:
Now, in the scroll exchanger system, holding the "Enter" key moves faster the scrolls.
Immortality is now applied for 15 seconds after killing the boss, preventing the player from taking damage from any attacks that may have remained active.
Spell Bar tooltips have been improved and now display description, tags, level, and name.
In the portal room, selecting an available character now shows their basic stats alongside.
Two new achievements have been added to the game, bringing the total to 99.
An adjustment has been made to the statistics screen to highlight the attributes of spells that have received any upgrades.
Added tags to the spell upgrade screen in the spellbook.
The starting element selection UI has been improved, with added details for each element.
The key hints UI has been adjusted to be more compact and occupy less screen space.
Added to the quest menu are some quests that were missing regarding map secrets.
Updated some icons in the quest menu, as well as some text, to make the rewards clearer.
A counter and percentage of quests completed have been added to the quest menu.
Spell descriptions have been updated to be more direct and easier to understand.
The confirmation dialog box when stepping through the portal at the end of a map has been removed and a timer has been added.
Added some missing cutscenes.
Close buttons have been added to some menus that were previously missing.
Some missing translations have been added.
Damage notation has been changed to use K (thousands), M (millions), B (billions), and so on.
Changed to select, by default, the highest difficulty level available when starting the game.
Fixes:
Fixed a bug related to the position where the Ice Illusion spell was cast.
Fixed a visual bug when using the scroll exchanger.
Fixed a rare bug that could occur when two Dachs Minions were alive at the same time.
Fixed a bug where Dachs Minions were not removed when the final boss of a map spawned.
Fixed a bug that caused invisible pillars to block players in the final Earth Boss arena.
