D96: Kansei changes
It's time to reveal our secrets and tell you how D96 is doing after a year.
All this time we have been completely redesigning and rewriting the game. There were many reasons for that. We didn't want to deceive those who liked the game, those who supported us by buying the game. During development we made a lot of mistakes, and in general we wanted to do something cooler. That's why we've been redesigning everything from scratch for a whole year.
And now let's briefly tell you why D96
Kansei Gen.
II is so much better than the original
Completely new physics, much more advanced than before (made completely by ourselves from scratch and it has a lot of advantages, but we'll talk about that later)
New graphics on a new engine (the game goes to a new visual style with elements of the old).
The spirit of original game is still there. We want to fix some bad spots in game mechanics as much as possible and leave all the main benefits of the original.
New much more detailed physics allows the game to simulate more aspects of car behavior and environmental effects, and new graphics to visualize them. For example, tire wear is visible not only in the interface, but also on the wheel itself. You can get out of the car and see the remaining tread.
Completely new sound with a lot of detail, including modified sounds of engines, tires, weather conditions, ambient and so on. The sound feels more spatial, using sound reflection physics.
