It's the not so distant future.
After the war of the megacorporations for data, resources and power. The government was not capable of keeping them in check and had to cede.
As a result the megacorps forced them to get exterritorial rights. In an era of progression those grew fast into becoming megacities with their own laws, cultures and underground businesses.
In the aftermath the sciences prospered. Artificial Intelligence, Virtual reality applications, gene editing, food printing to feed the people and development of advanced robotics led to a higher standard of life.
The Main Character(MC) of "Cyberlinxxx" just created a new medicine to treat “Malkov`s disease”. A psychosomatic illness affecting the brain and central nervous system. An effective treatment would mean big money on the market.
It’s an opportunity the biomedicinal wings of the megacorporations won’t let slide by.
Thus the MC becomes a target. But he’s got some aces up his sleeves and is ready to take up the fight to protect his life, girlfriends and work.
The trail leads him to the nearby megacity Arriaka …
