To be honest, Battlestar Galactica was the key inspiration behind Crying Suns; we’re all huge fans of this franchise, which is arguably one of the best science fiction series ever made. In fact, when we designed Crying Suns, our greatest geeky desire was to be able to play as Commander Adama, the series’ iconic and charismatic character, who must face adversity and chaos, demonstrate leadership, and above all, make difficult choices. And if there’s one crucial aspect to Scattered Hopes, it’s really this: managing to make difficult choices.

So yes, working on this amazing license is kind of a dream come true for us, as a small indie studio.

In addition to this obvious connection, you'll find a great deal of tactical depth in the combat phases, which still use active pause mechanics, but this time without a grid, and in asymmetrical battles where the goal is more about evading the enemy's overwhelming force. The key concept: "Resist until you can jump".

For those unfamiliar with this series, you don't need to be a fan of the franchise to play the game. The storyline runs parallel to the main story, and the basics of the universe are explained in the game's introduction anyway.
