Update Notes

Visual Overhaul

  • All new terrain visuals

  • Per unit shadows (optional)

  • New icon visuals for spells, aspects, equipment, buffs/debuffs, and accessories + their effects

More improvements to come over time - the next set will most likely focus on UI and in-game effects

Spell Progression Rework

  • Reworked how spell levels relate to spell upgrades, with the goal of having less overall upgrades while keeping the more interesting choices

  • Spells have a growth distribution that determines how they gain different types of bonuses when they level up (e.g. damage, spellpower, cooldown reduction, etc.) and the distribution can be changed through the spell context menu at any time

  • Spell upgrade options are now only offered every 5 spell levels and do not include the growth bonuses

  • Architect talent now makes changes to spell growth retroactive instead of allowing merging of spell upgrades

Other New Features

  • Added player profile config sets that can be used to manage difficulty / world / character options as well as spell growth distributions

  • Codex now shows special modifiers for equipment item types (modifiers that are not common to all equipment)

  • Added 20 new intermission events

  • Added 10 new unique equipment items

  • Added a new special elite enemy

Gameplay Changes

  • Random equipment generation now rolls unique vs. non-unique rarity before selecting an item, so unique odds no longer scale with the number of eligible unique entries

  • Adjusted several random intermission event choice rewards and affliction tradeoffs

  • A certain objective sequence now guides the next required step with a visible beam, and incorrect steps now move sequence progress back one step instead of fully resetting it

  • Nameless Step talent cooldown recovery changed from 1 second every 100 units to every 600 units

  • The Overseer talent minimum critical multiplier bonus reduced from 4% to 3%

  • Divine Descension talent damage bonus reduced from 4% more per second to 2% more per second

  • Reduced the duration of the initial stage by 1 minute

  • Slightly reduced enemy life in the first few stages

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed lost host connections during character selection being hidden behind the selection window instead of returning to the menu with a clear message

  • Fixed an issue that could cause an error with ignite

  • Fixed default display driver preferring Vulkan over D3D12 on Windows

  • Fixed terrain collision sometimes being incorrect

  • Fixed several very rare errors
