Cross of Auria changes
Unfortunately, I am unable to resolve the issue surrounding Mastery Effects, so they have been pulled from all tooltips. This act prompted an overhaul of the Mastery Effect system. Additionally, another rift is available in the Veil - this one takes Ruby back to the Unknown Realm and allows battling some familiar enemies from the Zodiac Overwatch. These new battlegroups have significantly upgraded drop rates relative to their Zodiac Overwatch counterparts in addition to dropping a new unique reagent.
The vendor which sells the Aries Gem will now sell a shield with +10% damage resist in exchange for the item from the 9th Veil rift boss. To make this vendor spawn, you must complete the entire Zodiac Overwatch and visit him near the entrance without leaving. Once you leave, progress is reset and he despawns.
This update is available immediately.
8.5.2.0 - Rifts in the Veil III
NEW
The 9th Veil rift is available which unlocks another vendor in the area.
SKILL & MASTERY CHANGES
Due to some Mastery effects behaving unpredictably, their details have been removed from all tooltips.
Abilities with both a % and flat damage adjustment through mastery have had one of them removed and the other strengthened.
-- Abilities without a damage or healing formula were not affected.
-- Mastery effects already learned are committed to the character and cannot be unlearned or adjusted on the fly. These updates only apply to future mastery levels gained.
-- If x% was < 30%, x% was raised to 33%.
-- If x% was 30-60%, x% was raised to 66%.
-- If x% was 60-99%, x% was raised to 100%
-- x% was capped at 100% for this increase.
-- Abilities which already had a +100% mastery or beyond that were generally not changed unless documented below.
-- Flat y value was almost always removed. If there was only a flat y instead of an x%, it was replaced by 33%. The only exclusion are skills whose flat y damage additions were 100 or greater. (Ex: Wicked Strike = +500 Damage Per Level)
-- These changes apply to the first 410 skills in the database, which does not include scratch line or any tiered elemental ability.
Increased the max mastery level of most abilities to 25. Abilities whose -MP or -TP effects would drop the cost to use to 0 or below had either their TP/MP requirements increased or the effect of the mastery decreased.
-- Abilities whose max mastery was already greater than 25 were generally untouched. (Ex: Blitz, Fury Strikes, Uppercut, Arcane Missile all have Max Mastery Level of 50)
Increased the damage of Double-Strike and Triple-Strike to more effectively separate them from effects that cause Normal Attacks to hit 2 or 3 times. This does not affect the separate Lightning Rage activated versions of those skills, which already benefit from Electric Power.
Dagger Rush no longer uses its own variable the way electric-line skills do. Instead, it has half-piercing.
Adjusted the MP/TP cost of the Warpstrike I-V line. The low cost was left over when the skill was originally copied from Warpstrike I and then never adjusted for II-V. This was an error. Their MP cost has been raised to 10x their tier (ex: Warpstrike V = 50MP/25TP)
Lightning Rage's mastery has been reduced from 50 to 25, but each level now gives -2TP instead of -1.
Thundercutter+ Barrier Penetration increased from 20% to 66%.
Bolt Cutter+ Barrier Penetration increased from 0% to 66%.
Energy Shock II mastery reduced from 100% to 33%. Increased its base damage by 100% to be in line with other II shocks.
Remedy, First Aid, and Stitch have had their icons changed and now leave a visible buff. No function has been changed.
LOCATION CHANGES
Introduced a rare enemy into Den An'ura, Scarlet Cavern, & Hell's Gate random encounter tables. These units have accelerated drop rates of the normal enemy's loot plus double exp for its level.
"Snowdrift Area" entrance renamed to "Battlefront Camp", a reference to when this zone hosted a minigame many moons ago.
"Snowdrift Area", the greater expanse location, renamed to "Old Battlefront".
Added NPCs to Old Battlefront to help guide the player through to Snowdrift Village.
Added save point crystals to Old Battlefront.
Updated the battle imagery for Old Battlefront.
Snowdrift Village exit tiles now connect to their corresponding location in Old Battlefront.
A new NPC offers swift travel - for a price - from Battlefront Camp to Snowdrift Village.
The hidden vendor in Zodiac Overwatch will now accept the Prismatic Zodiac Coin in exchange for a special item.
TOOLTIP CHANGES
Replaced the previous "adds burn" "adds poison" and "adds bleed" icons with the sword to a representative icon with a plus instead if the skill, weapon, or armor would add those states to attacks. Changes to weapons and armor are only visible on newly acquired versions after this patch releases. No function change has been implemented.
