Discover the start of the strange happenings that will eventually lead into the main game!
This demo isn't anything new conceptually, but I truly missed the concept of a demo being a separate entity from the main game that can stand on its own, albeit in an abridged, shrinked form. So I gave myself a year, game jam style, to start from scratch and use the framework of the WIP Crooked Knobs to come up with something completely separate.
The result is Crooked Knobs Zero, a prequel story taking place on New Year's Eve 2014, that stands on its own as a full, small thing, leading into the main story taking place in the far future. And with a different lead too, none other than Lance the rhinoceros, guest character from the game Oh So Hero! (developed by Full-Frontal Frog), and mentor of the actual real protagonist.
It exists for two reasons: firstly because it's cool to have something extra that's not me chopping one game's leg to leave you hanging for a while. But also, secondly, because feedback is important and I want to get as much as I can to improve the main game! The framework you'll see here is basically the same with minor differences (because of the setting and context mostly, they had to work slightly differently), so collecting feedback is sure to help me out in the future!

Oh! And a huge thanks to all the guests that made it into this demo as a cameo! The main game for obvious reasons will have original characters instead but for a freebie it's ok to have something different instead~ You'll find plenty information about em (too many to list 'em all here), so go check em out and follow them on their X or Bluesky! Mostly Bluesky! Here's to hope this invitation doesn't age poorly in half a minute!
