Hi,

This is FlatCat.

I wanna share a bit about the game development.

Normally, the patch notes are about technical changes.

Since I have no one else to tell, I may as well start putting what I found here.

I hope someone will find this interesting or useful.

The core gameplay is about 10%.

Having many random numbers does make it hard to know which one is too high or too low.

A lot of changes feel like guesswork until it feels good sometimes :P

In the current version,

The character takes damage based on the enemies left at the end of the turn.

This is common in RPG games.

It's a back-and-forth battle.

In those games, you are free to heal at any time.

This is not the case for Cream Pie (name subject to change)

It's either seeing HP drip all the way to 0 or pack so much heal that you are always at 100%.

There are many ways to change it

The easiest is to keep it simple.

Remove the random upgrade pick and allow us to get what we want at any time.

I was thinking a lot about it, and yes, that game would work just fine.

I will not change the upgrade system, at least until I run out of testing ideas.

The current game already gives us what we want at any time.

With a bit of luck, of course,

When I said a bit of luck.

It means you may need to sacrifice a pig or something.

btw that emoji has nothing to do with this thinking.

Another solution is to make damaging items more effective.

There were 4 of this type of item so far.

There was still a lot to be done before a demo
