Your hermit crab doesn’t have to be alone anymore.
This update adds multi-crab support. More shells to swap, more tiny adventures, more crab energy. I rebuilt the core systems to give your crabs some company. Take care of multiple hermit crabs in this new update.
This is a foundation update that sets the game up for much bigger growth. Before this update, all gameplay was limited to a single crab. Multi-crab support opens the game up to more possibilities and a better overall experience. Now that this update is out, you can expect more regular content updates and continued refinement of current features.
Plans for the future include
Improved building mechanics
Backyard adventure quests
More types of shells
More intricate tank designs and more options overall
Increased complexity in the crabs’ AI
Two more exploration levels
Crab diet effects
More training mechanics for your crab
Room customization and unlocks
More achievements
Inventory updates and new items
Afterlife options
Possible multiplayer aspects, like a park where you can hang out with other crabs
This update adds
Multi-crab ownership
Crabs can now swim
Changes to food mechanics
New tank designs and options
Level-based unlock restrictions for tanks
New unlockable shell skins
Crabs now pick their own shells. If they don’t have a shell, they’ll pick one after a nap
Crabs now visibly sleep
Crabs now change size depending on age
New user interface
New main menu
Many more smaller changes as a result of the updates above
Thank you for your support in the early days of Crabs. I’m excited to keep growing Crabs with you, and I can’t wait to see where we are in a year. If you have feedback, feature requests, or find a bug, feel free to join the Discord to stay up to date and share your thoughts.
