  • Gameplay

changedSettlements are the building blocks of your county. Instead of constructing individual buildings, in County of Fortune you found entire settlements and oversee their growth from small villages to bustling cities.
changedHere you can see the two main tabs you'll need to control your settlement: the 'Needs' tab and the 'Buildings' tab.
changedThe Buildings tab provides a full overview of constructed buildings. In addition to the key metrics of efficiency and employment, it also shows maintenance status and what each building actually does.
changedEvery settlement in the game has its own mayor of your choosing, and each mayor belongs to a specific noble house. Each mayor provides their own skills and efficiencies, but choosing a leader is never just about what they bring to their settlement, it is also about the power and influence of their house. Favour one house too much, and it may grow corrupt. Neglect another, and you risk losing its support.

Settlements are the building blocks of your county. Instead of constructing individual buildings, in County of Fortune you found entire settlements and oversee their growth from small villages to bustling cities.

Let's get in to the basics of settlements in County of Fortune.

First, though, you'll need to find somewhere suitable to place your settlements. Your first one ideally needs to be on fertile land, so you can provide enough food for your growing population!

Here you can see the two main tabs you'll need to control your settlement: the 'Needs' tab and the 'Buildings' tab.

The Needs tab shows what meals and equipment are available in the settlement. Each meal increases building efficiency, but only if all required ingredients are present. These, of course, being determined by what you're farming, and as you expand, by what you're trading with your other settlements in the region. Equipment increases the maximum number of employed villagers and unlocks additional building slots.

The Buildings tab provides a full overview of constructed buildings. In addition to the key metrics of efficiency and employment, it also shows maintenance status and what each building actually does.

Those aren't the only ways you can control your settlement though, and another one of those ways is through mayors.

Every settlement in the game has its own mayor of your choosing, and each mayor belongs to a specific noble house. Each mayor provides their own skills and efficiencies, but choosing a leader is never just about what they bring to their settlement, it is also about the power and influence of their house. Favour one house too much, and it may grow corrupt. Neglect another, and you risk losing its support.

To start levelling up your settlement in County of Fortune, you'll need ensure your population’s need are fulfilled. To do that, you'll need to found other settlements that provide the other ingredients and equipment you need. This starts to become your County, as your region begins to grow.
