changedGreat news, we’ve just passed a major milestone: our first public beta, and it went really well.
changedThe most important takeaway is that the core of the game works. The main gameplay loop and core mechanics resonated with the vast majority of players, which is exactly what we were hoping to see.
addedOne of the biggest pain points was the culture system. Based on your feedback, we’ve reworked it from the ground up. The new version has a stronger impact on gameplay and the core city-builder mechanics, while also giving players more agency, with clearer (though still indirect) ways to influence how culture spreads.
addedWe’ll share more details soon. For now, here’s a first look at the reworked culture UI, which already hints at how the new system works.

That said, not everything is there yet. Some of the supporting systems didn’t land equally well, and the feedback made it clear where things feel rough or unclear. That’s where our focus is now.

And as always: County of Fortune is still in development. Everything shown is a work in progress and subject to change.
