Cosmochoria changes
Well, my friends... we're getting closer and closer to having a finished game here.. Ive been working on some huge updates all month, including new enemies, hazards, bosses, mechanics, and all sorts of goodies to start preparing Cosmochoria for it's final phase of development: Story. Essentially the (normal) enemies are now complete. Everyone you encounter in the game is where it's going to stand for now. More enemies might come later (actually at least one will for sure.. he's half programmed already...) and there will be at least 3 more bosses completed, but I am so very happy with the variety that the game has at this point. ESPECIALLY THIS NEW BOSS. Wow.. I could talk for days about the stuff that's in this latest build. But I wont. Here's a list of what I've done. NEW BOSS: BOSSWORM - the amount of time i spent on this one boss was worthy of an update in itself, i promise you guys this is the single greatest thing Ive ever done so far in my life. I hope you enjoy kicking his ass after you figure out how.
NEW ENEMY: Crawlers
NEW CORE MECHANIC!! Treasure Chests appear when completing a planet. Chests contain crystals, bases, costumes and artifacts (artifacts coming soon).
NEW COSTUME: Find the Tighty Whiteys.
“CRITTERS” Spawn eventually on completed planets.
LAVA!!! Thank you Jessi for the inspiration to get it done. Thank you Toma for the original idea! Such a good addition and solves the issues of the damn bite planets. :)
WATER!!! Doesnt damage player, but slows you down. Water does damage enemies slowly.
NEW HAZARDS: TEJON MONUMENT: prevents you from using your jetpack if you are caught nearby. Can be destroyed.
NEW PLANET SHAPES!
NEW MUSIC (esp for “Protect the Egg” :)
NEW ‘Always Up’ Camera Type (Tight). Can choose between “Loose", “Tight", and “Off” for camera now.
Added screen-edge notifiers to show when they’re incoming and from what side of the screen.
Changed boss spawn points a bit.
Increased size of robotoaster.
Better death sound.
Crystals, diamonds, bricks & powerups now push out to a planets surface if they are stuck in a planet.
Nicer jet smoke. More like fluff now, but… powerful awesome fluff.
Jet smoke bounces off planets.. (I will NOT apologize for spending time on this.)
Danger zone now warns you sooner that you are getting close to the edge..
Danger zone now depletes your energy waaaaay slower.
Opening a Chest causes an ‘explosion’ that kills all basic enemies on the screen. This doesn’t touch your towers.
More Animations and goo.
Fixed fast plant speed. Now faster.
Cleaned up Alien AI Code
Improved UFO AI.
Increased range of towers.
Slightly Improved Ability of Towers to Kill ground enemies. They still act as a ‘distraction’ though.
A little warning when things are coming out of the ground….
Re-allowed (slight) slowdown when crouching in space even without space friction upgrade.
Gravity now reverse proportional to planet size. (ie opposite of reality… small planets = small jumps, giant planets = moon jump) Let me know what you think of this...
Better load screen tips. I do hope you enjoy.
