Corporate Beatdown changes
The Corporate Beatdown demo has been updated to have greater parity with the full version of the game!
A Quick Overview:
Better overall performance
New graphics settings (Low/Med/High)
Improved controls responsiveness
New Intro Cutscene!
Refined UI
The demo now represents a more accurate idea of what to expect in the full game!
If you like details...
Better overall performance The demo has been updated from Unreal Engine 5.1 to 5.4 and I've refactored a lot of code to remove numerous unnecessary per-frame event ticks on destructible objects, characters, and walls. Frame rates have been more consistent and higher in general.
New graphics settings (Low/Med/High) I've implemented general graphics settings that alter texture, lighting, and shadow quality, etc.. Certain particle effects are also omitted on lower graphics settings. Wall animations were causing quite the impact for some reason, so those are also removed on low. It might not be as pretty - but now more should be able to smash to their heart's content at a decent framerate.
Improved controls responsiveness The initial version of the demo had the physical animation of the player reflect their daze meter, causing their actions to become less responsive and sluggish as they took damage. This added insult to injury and added onto the difficulty of recovering. Didn't feel great. Now, your actions are consistent and precise, even if you just had your head caved in.
New Intro Cutscene! When the demo initially released, I didn't have any of the story animated. Now I do! So here you go! Enjoy an intro to SmashFest Live!!!
Refined UI Recolored everything so it has the beautiful blood red all over the place. Also made the style of some buttons and icons more consistent in the different menus.
Ok - that should be everything!
Now get back to work! (Smash)
