Cold Decks changes
Greetings, Pioneers!
The Wildcard Initiative has news to announce to you!
(tl;dr: we released a cool patch, we're attending a cool game conference)
First, we are proud to tell you we are taking part in the Nordic Game 2026 event. Hosted in Slaghuset in Malmo, it is a splendid event that brings together thousands of developers, publishers, investors, students and creatives.
100+ fascinating indie games will be displayed physically there, and showcased in the Steam event. And among them, Cold Decks. Needless to say, we're mighty happy and a little proud of ourselves.

We put a bit of pressure on ourselves to deliver the biggest demo patch yet in time for this event. Detailed changelog is below, but we bring you a ton of changes, new content, improvements and hopefully, more fun.
We named it internally HAZARDS, SOUNDS, AND ROBODOGS, cause, first, we like to funnel all our creativity into the game, and second 'tis what the patch is exactly about.
RoboDogs! Hazards! Sounds!
RoboDogs can do more things and do them better. Game sounds better! Hazards are even more deadly. To be honest, we did not want to scare you away when we first released the demo, so we scaled the danger back in many ways. Seeing the positive feedback we've received since (for which we are mighty grateful), we decided to push it closer to intially intended levels. Let us know what you think!
We also bring sound improvements, which increased the quality of all sounds and brought more of them, and new card art. You can see now exactly which Pioneers are hurt and how much.
a picture of new Pioneer and RoboDog card art, only two of the above are in the demo, if you want to check out how does the ExoSkeleton works, or wear cool glasses from our Capsule Art, you will need to wait a bit for the full version!
We devote most our time to two things right now: Working on the full version of the game (which will contain not only more content in all shapes, but a couple of completly new mechanics as well, so stay tuned!) and marketing.
For that, we've created a dedicated YouTube channel and an Instagram account and devoted a quarter of our shitposting potential towards making content that promotes the game.
We ask people there to come here and wishlist the game, so here we'll do the opposite:
Please go to our YouTube channel, watch the videos, and if you like them, well, like the videos and subscribe to the channel!
