Update Details

New System: Spell Upgrades

During exploration, you can now obtain Spells with special Upgrades. Available Upgrades include Power Boost, Ailment Boost, Shield Gain, Charge, Cost Reduction, and Life Steal. If you clear the stage and return to Base, these Spells retain their Upgrades and can be used during your next exploration.

Rest Points Revamped

At Rest Points, you can now choose either to fully restore your HP and refill your Vacuum Flasks or to upgrade your Spells. Choose between healing and upgrading based on your current HP and Deck composition.

New Difficulty: “Limit Break”

Players who have cleared the Critical difficulty can now take on Limit Break +1 through +3. Limit Break levels unlock separately for each stage, and clearing one level unlocks the next. As the level increases, effects such as stronger enemies and Starter Deck restrictions stack up. Additional levels are planned for future updates.

New Enemies

New enemies have been added to exploration areas throughout the game. Some quickly close the distance, while others use sturdy defenses to block frontal attacks. Each has a different effective range and attack pattern, so discover for yourself what awaits you.

New Event: “Bandit Raid”

A new event has been added in which bandits may ambush you during exploration. You can choose whether to hand over your Gold or fight them.

Combat Actions and Controls Improved

Movement speed while Sprinting has been increased, improving the pace of both exploration and combat. You can also now deflect multiple projectiles with a single Parry.

Aim Assistance Added to Select Spells

Magic Missile, Strike Arrow, Flame Arrow, Magical Flame, Ball Lightning, Icicle Shot, and Shuriken now slightly adjust their aim toward an enemy in front when fired. This is not a homing effect; the launch angle is adjusted slightly at the moment of firing to reduce missed shots.

Camera Improvements

Previously, the camera zoomed out only when enemies were nearby. It now generally maintains a wider view in encounter areas where enemies are present, making it easier to keep track of distant enemies and projectiles.

Enemy Stats and Placement Adjustments

We have comprehensively reviewed enemy HP, attack, and defense; difficulty- and floor-based scaling; and enemy placement across all areas. Individual stats and behaviors have also been adjusted for some enemies, including bosses.

UI and Display Improvements

World Map icons have been updated. The upgraded state of Spells is now reflected across the relevant screens, and an issue causing some HP bars to appear flipped has been fixed.

Other Adjustments and Bug Fixes

Terrain in some stages, enemy AI, attack effects, and hit detection have been adjusted. Parts of the game's rendering and UI update processing have been optimized, along with fixes for other minor issues.

A Note About the Open Beta

This build has not been fully tested yet, so minor issues are likely to remain. Please keep this in mind while playing.

Please share bug reports and feedback in the #open-beta channel on our fan Discord server! We'll use your feedback to make further adjustments before the official release.

How to Join

In your Steam Library, right-click Code Reactors, then select “Properties” → the “Betas” tab → “[Beta Name].”

To return to the regular version, set the beta to “None” on the same screen.

Future Updates

Our previously published roadmap called for several separate major updates. We have since changed plans and consolidated them into Ver.2.0.

After the official release of Ver.2.0, we plan to continue with additional Ver.2.x.x updates, including new content.

We'll continue making adjustments as we work toward the official release. Thank you for your continued support of Code Reactors!
