Sorry for the radio silence! We've been heads-down deep in the mines, but we're incredibly excited to finally share our progress with you. Expect these dev logs every month from now until the game is in your hands!

New Mechanics & Gameplay

  • Players can now use their fists.

  • Added chargeable pickaxe and fist mechanics.

  • Added a drivable cart, along with cart improvements.

  • Added ladder climbing.

  • Added breakable item boxes and barrels.

  • Added more environmental interactable objects.

  • Added screen-space effects to provide player feedback for status effects.

  • Added character VFX based on player status effects.

  • Added better spatial and proximity audio positioning.

New Areas

  • Added a new player spawn area: Barracks.

  • Added a secret basement under the Barracks. (totally not suspicious)

  • Added a secret tunnel to the city.

New Content

  • Added new player animations.

  • Added new item animations.

  • Added new creature animations.

  • Added new proximity audio effects.

  • Added new status effects: Poison, Freeze, Fatigue, Fracture, and more.

  • Added new mine tiles for procedural dungeon generation.

  • Added new creatures: Bat and Lost Miner.

  • Added new items: Medkit, Syringe, Alcohol, Mushrooms, Cigarette, and more.

  • Added new sound effects.

  • Added new traps: Electric Box, Poison Mine, and more.

Improvements & Updates

  • Updated mine layouts to improve procedural generation.

  • Updated creature behavior.

  • Updated item visuals.

  • Improved elevator decorations.

  • Made various mechanic changes and quality-of-life improvements.

Fixes

  • Hopefully fixed many bugs.

  • And many more things we genuinely lost track of.

This update was powered by dozens of lost hours of sleep and an irresponsible amount of coffee.
