This new update brings major improvements to performance, stability, and compatibility. The PC version now benefits from months of optimization work originally done to make the game run on standalone VR hardware. As a result, the game runs faster, is more stable, and the build size has been more than halved - all without significant visual differences.
Highlights
Controller disconnection no longer causes flying/stretching bugs. Resolved the "arm stretch" issue when tracking is lost or controllers run out of battery.
Improved spawn logic. Players are now correctly spawned without risk of getting stuck or thrown away.
Massive optimization of game assets. Textures, shaders, particle effects, and other assets were heavily optimized, leading to faster load times and a significantly smaller build.
Improved colliders. Some colliders were simplified for better collision detection and smoother climbing.
Simplified quality settings. The game now uses a single, optimized quality level that balances visuals and performance - the quality dropdown has been removed.
Settings persistence. User settings are now saved properly when the application is paused or interrupted.
Recentering fixed. The recenter function now works reliably via the headset dashboard.
Unused engine services removed. Unused Unity packages and services have been stripped out of the project.
Fullscreen only mode. The game now runs in fullscreen mode only. This improves both performance and compatibility with recording/streaming software.
Visual Adjustments
Castle moss removed. The heavy triplanar moss shader has been removed - rocks remain visible without the performance hit.
Snow improved. The snow is now less bright and translucent, allowing underlying rocks to be seen. The snow shader was replaced with a lighter version.
Other Changes
Demo disabled. The demo has not received these updates and no longer represents the current state of the game. It has been disabled.
Price adjusted. The price has been lowered to better reflect the nature of the game and match other platforms. This is a very challenging rage-climbing game and now more accessible to a wider audience.
