Civic Story changes
It's been a few months since Civic Story's release. While Shining Spark Entertainment has been taking a much deserved break since our last bug fix, Civic Story has been making the rounds quite a bit lately. Our founder, Jordan Sparks, has been speaking to quite a few people out the game.
A while ago, the head of the Facebook page "The Love Life of An Asian Guy" (LLAG) took an interest in our work and asked Jordan to come on his podcast a few months ago to talk about Civic Story and Video Games. If you check out his Facebook and Tiktok, he's also been posting clips from our chat for the past week, so definitely check him out. It was a lot of fun going on LLAG and we might be showing up again on their show to talk about other stuff later. We'll see!
Coincidentally, less than a day after the LLAG interview was released last week, this came out!
Recently, The Lodgge, a local organization that reports on and celebrates Ontario games and interactive media, invited Jordan onto their podcast to discuss a multitude of things: Civic Story, his work at the Hand Eye Society, how he got into games, and even his thoughts on the Ontario media industry. Feel free to check that out.
Additionally Civic Story has been featured in a few articles by some other publications as well since launch such as Excelon Magazine, Authority Magazine, Bleeps & Bloops Podcast, and the Civic Tech Field Guide.
Finally, Civic Story was part of the Indie Showcase for the Dreamhack Beyond event this past weekend on Steam. I still find it very ironic that our political game was technically sponsored by the US Air Force for a weekend, but it is what it is.
While Civic Story has been out, we are finally slowly getting around to addressing a few small technical issues that we couldn't fix at launch. We hope to update the game with those fixes in the new year and include one extra goodie in there if we can. Additionally, we're in early development of a few other new game concepts we hope you can expect on the horizon. We'll update you when you when we can.
