Repeated intro

Hello everyone! I know new content has taken a bit of a back seat as I worked hard on the Nintendo Switch launch. I spent a good deal of overtime the past couple of months in addition to the Switch programming to make sure I could give you all something fun and new too! This update has a host of new changes, balances, bug fixes, and of course, new stuff! Note: some of the new things might be fun to discover organically in your games, so read below only if you don't mind spoiling things for yourself!

addedSquirrel HideoutCinnabunny 1.4 has a new super secret location where squirrels gather to play games and win acorns. This hideout is hidden somewhere in the forest so get searching (though you shouldn't have to look too far from the handcart...)
addedAcorn MarketIn the new squirrel hideout location, there is a market where certain items can only be purchased with a new acorn currency. How do you get acorns? You can convert some of your hard earned carrots to acorns at a special machine in the squirrel hideout. Once you're outfitted with a small starting pile of acorns, you can play different mini games to get more! Additionally, certain new items like hats, furniture, and rugs can only be purchased in the squirrel hideout with acorns.
addedUltimate SpincornCinnabunny 1.4 adds a dynamic new mini game called Ultimate Spincorn. What is Ultimate Spincorn? It's a past time of squirrel culture! Inspired by a certain franchise that shall go nameless, this game involves spinning acorns or acorn-like objects, called spincorns, in a small arena. Last acorn standing wins! Steam post image Spincorns have three different actions available to them: attack, parry, and focus spin. Attacking will send your spincorn flying in the direction you're pressing, parry will send the other spincorn flying back if they are bouncing into you, and focus spin will recover your spin (health) if you've taken any damage. This mini game is playable against AI or in co-op mode between both players.
added40 Unique spincorns to collectSteam post image As your rabbit explores the forest, they may come across new small trees which contain a spincorn nut. These spincorns can be tricky to access, so you may have to try a few different methods of reaching them! Once you do, the nut will fall to the ground, revealing a new spincorn for you to use in the Ultimate Spincorn game. The higher the league you've successfully beat in the squirrel hideout, the more rare spincorns will be available for you to discover in the forest! Not all spincorns are created equally, and different spincorns have different stats, so make sure to try out new ones to solidify your play style in the arena!

Other Additions

Drawing from a classic game I had in my childhood, this game allows you to win acorns by testing your memory! There is also a super hardcore mode where you must play solely by audio without any visual cues at all!

New Mini-Game: Slot Machine

Try your hand at the squirrel slots for an opportunity to win big! Time your lever to line up the various slot wheels for an acorn windfall. Slot machines with a smaller acorn cost spin more slowly.

Bun Run for Acorns

The bun run arcade game has been added to the squirrel hideout. In this location you can now win acorns for successful runs.

Eight New Fuzzy Rugs

Added eight new fuzzy rugs of different colors for more decoration options in your bakery. Purchasable on the acorn market, a different rug will show up every day, similar to Sage's furniture shop.

Four New Furniture Items

Added three furniture items purchasable on the acorn market: nut shelf, shop bell, and rain shower head. Additionally, the coveted golden acorn is purchasable for a large amount of acorns.

Five Spincorn Trophy Cases

Trophies are fine but a little boring. Squirrel culture decided that victories in the different spincorn leagues should grant cute dioramas instead! A new diorama is awarded after you beat an Ultimate Spincorn league for the first time. Each diorama matches its league: bush league, tree league, river league, mountain league, and nutty league.

Four New Hats

Acorn crown, acorn cap, volcano hat, and leaf hat have all been added to the acorn market.

Other Acorn Market Purchasables

Rabbits can now buy supplemental ingredient bushes, shrubs, and trees on the acorn market. The basic spincorn is also available for purchase to help commence your Ultimate Spincorn career!

New Collection Tab

A tab in the collections section of the main menu has been added to show every spincorn that you've discovered in the forest. Your inventory will also display spincorn stats for determining what spincorn you should take to the arena.

New Squirrel Color Variations

Added a bunch of different squirrel fur color variations to make the squirrel hideout less samey :)

New Dialogue

Added some new dialogue for a couple of rabbits and some of the squirrels in the squirrel hideout.

New Community Project

If you succeed enough in the spincorn arena, you'll be able to fund a new community project to purchase a couple spincorn arenas and play in Sugar Creek Burrows without having to travel to the squirrel hideout.

  • Significantly increased NPC stability

  • Changed Wren's birthday to Warm 16th

  • Slight performance increase for Aurora viewing

  • Added some pro bun tips to make certain activities more clear (chasing squirrels, etc.)

  • Added tip to help guide people further in accessing furniture / wallpaper / flooring inside the bakery

  • Changes to some particle effects

  • Increased sale price of berry bushes, fruit trees, and herb bushes by 100%

  • First baking cookware use message now works with any relevant recipe, not just pie

  • Villager relationship hearts in dialogue UI now updates in real time (instead of waiting for next dialogue box)

  • Significantly tuned base sale price for most baked goods (Anywhere from 10% to 100% increases, all baked goods affected except flatbread, bread, and cookies)

  • Sometimes duplicates of certain NPCs are visible inside their homes

  • NPCs will rarely decide it's fun to float high up in the sky

  • Bella sometimes gets stuck on top of her house

  • Sometimes the shopkeepers aren't at their posts when they should be

  • If a player uses the mirror in their bakery and then tries to pick it up, the mirror will glitch into them until they put it away in storage

  • In very rare circumstances, when attempting to sell wheat the amount will list as zero (though the player will make the correct number of carrots at the end of the day)

  • In very rare circumstances, NPC relationship status will sometimes reset

  • In certain circumstances, NPCs can fall just below the town map and be impossible to find

  • Sniff particles for locating NPCs sometimes gravitate toward the wrong direction

  • Sometimes too many splash particles will appear when entering a body of water

  • Certain shopping spot items not occluding correctly

  • In certain circumstances, certain furniture items can be turned 90 degrees from intentional rotation

  • Directional audio not working correctly when using the birdoculars

  • In rare circumstances, rabbit ears can occlude partial vision in the birdoculars

  • In certain circumstances, some hats can occlude partial vision in the birdoculars

  • Toolbelt mistakenly visible when using the birdoculars and looking down
