addedToday, we are excited to announce the release of the biggest update CINEVEO has received since the addition of the 60s Drive-In Theater! In the new v1.8.0 update, the 4D Movie Theater v2.0 is retired and replaced by the 4D Movie Theater v3.0. The new v3.0 is a complete re-build with Unity 5 and the Oculus v0.6.0 SDK. It comes with many new features, such as a AAA graphics upgrade, advanced dynamic lighting with reflections and shape drawing, an innovative Stereo PFOV lighting technique we invented that extends the movie experience beyond the edges of the cinema screen using your peripheral vision, new hands-free controls, more functionalities and is Rift CV1 ready. VERSION 1.8.0 - The 4D Movie Theater v2.0 is retired and replaced by the 4D Movie Theater v3.0. The new v3.0 features AAA graphics, Oculus v0.6.0 SDK, advanced dynamic lighting with reflections and is Rift CV1 ready. - Upgraded to Unity 5, making use of all the new features and goodies. - Native Oculus Runtime v0.6.0 support. - AAA graphics upgrade. Ultra-realism, Ultra-immersion. Now you really feel like being in a movie theater. - New dynamic lighting engine casts the cinema screen’s light, color, reflections, shapes and shadows throughout the movie theater. - Innovative new Stereo PFV (Peripheral Field of View) Lighting. We invented a new dynamic lighting technique that utilizes your blurry peripheral vision (What your eyes see at the edges of your field of view). This new technique creates a mesmerizing special effect, which extends the movie watching experience beyond the cinema screen and into the movie theater. It will feel like the movie is actually taking place inside the movie theater. This effect can only be seen from the start position chair (last row chair) and is best visible during action scenes and explosions. You will see the effect when you keep focusing at the center of the cinema screen and see part of the left and right wall of the movie theater in your peripheral vision. - New hands-free gaze controls with new design. - Added new functions to the video player hands-free interface (fast forward / rewind 10 seconds or 1 minute, lighting toggle, go to movie selection zone, exit the app, current time). - Added a new movie selection hands-free interface that lets you switch video files inside the movie theater. The new movie selection interface opens when you look at the popcorn box to the left of you. - Graphically enhanced movie selection zone. - Added tunnel fly-through animation to movie selection zone. - Added a file filter to the VR File Browser. Now only lists folders and video files. Other files are filtered out.
