Repeated intro

Hey everyone! Big update this time — the building system got a complete overhaul, plus a major AI rework.

What changed

0 fixes2 additions3 changes1 removal
  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
  • Performance
addedThe headline: you can now place buildings wherever you want! Click Build and a ghost preview follows your aim — green means you can place, red means blocked. Rotate it with Q/E or the scroll wheel, left click to confirm, right click or Esc to cancel. You only pay when you actually place it. And if you ever change your mind, every built building now has a Move button instead of just saying "Built" — reposition anything, anywhere, free and instantly. Works for machines too!
changedSpeaking of machines, they got reworked as well: they now build instantly with no waiting timers, and they use the same free placement system — the only rule is they have to go on proper floors. No more milking machines on a mountainside 😅
removedZombies got a lot smarter (and fairer). They're no longer psychic — gunshots draw them to the sound location, where they'll investigate and only chase you if they actually SEE you, so sneaking away after a loud fight is finally a real strategy 🥷 Packs now spread out and surround you instead of forming a conga line, they can't cheap-shot you sideways anymore (they have to face you to hit), and best of all: zombies now fight raiders back. Raider gunfire attracts nearby zombies, so camps can erupt into full three-way battles. Use that to your advantage 😈
changedRaiders got deadlier too. They now fire in bursts with reload pauses instead of robot-clockwork shots, patrol raiders strafe and reposition during firefights, and shooting a guard in the back makes him spin around and come for you — no more free backstabs.
changedOn top of all that: automatic doors now work correctly on buildings placed at any rotation, building and machine positions fully save and load, and there's been a big AI performance pass so things run much smoother with lots of zombies on screen. Old saves are fully compatible!
