Launch Recap and January Update Announcement

changedIt has been nearly two weeks since the launch of the game, and I want to give a little update on how it went and where we're going. First of all I want to thank everyone who bought, played and streamed the game, as well as everyone who wrote on the discussion forums and joined the Discord! Launch has performed about as I expected based on the wishlist numbers, and I'm very happy with the response so far. Over the past two weeks I've uploaded a number of small, unmarked fixes that mostly dealt with bugs reported by players and slight balance tweaks, and from what I can tell, no major issues have appeared that would make the coming winter break problematic.
addedNew "Celestial" faction , including new enemies , new objectives , six new playable ships and new upgrades to unlock
addedTwo new interactable structures: The shrine (celestial objective and ship unlock structure) and the reliquary (new in-run upgrade structure)

I'll be taking a holiday for about two weeks, being unavailable to fix bugs or address platform issues. I'll still check in and respond to discussion threads occasionally, and the Discord has other community members/moderators capable of answering questions.

When I return in early January, work will be focused on the first major content update for Catharage coming in late January: Angelwatch!

  • New "Celestial" faction, including new enemies, new objectives, six new playable ships and new upgrades to unlock

  • Two new interactable structuresThe shrine (celestial objective and ship unlock structure) and the reliquary (new in-run upgrade structure)
  • Relics: powerful, one-time use items that change ship behaviour significantly

  • A new, very hard supercapital boss

  • Two new status effects exclusive to celestial loot: Ascension will store procs to generate an AoE explosion on target death, while Damnation will increase the damage of all other incoming damage by proc amount

  • New module abilities

  • Fleet QOLFleet status UI , more fleet member commands and new fleet ships including support ships

Look forward to more details during January and on the Discord.

Also note that the 30% launch discount will end on December 24th, and because of this launch discount, the game will not be further discounted as part of the winter sale!
