We hope July has been good to you! Here at Roost Games, we had a great month. We worked on some really cool new stuff we know you're going to love. Seriously, we're so excited to talk about our cutest CCM2 feature yet. Prepare yourself for some serious baby fever, because...

🍼Cat Cafe Manager 2 will have KITTENS!

Whereas cat cafes in the original Cat Cafe Manager were only inhabited by grown cats, things will be a little different in your city establishment in Cat Cafe Manager 2: Big City Bliss.

Because you know, when two cats love each other very, very much... there's a chance they will surprise you with ✨ AN ADORABLE KITTEN!✨😻

💕As you can see, kittens will be fully-fledged inhabitants of your cat cafe. They need to be nurtured, fed, and loved as much as your big cats do. Perhaps even a little more!🎀 Our lead game designer Rick will fill you in on some more details:

🎤"We're still working out the exact details for kitten gameplay, but we do know that when two cats get close enough, your cat cafe might be blessed with a little kitten! Kittens inherit visual traits from their parents, but may also acquire their stats and personality quirks. Every kitten is a happy accident, though, so don't expect to tactically breed the ultimate cafe cat.

Of course, kittens are incredibly cute, so your customers will be extra delighted by them. Since they're babies, they also tend to require a little more care than your grown-up cats. They get tired a lot more quickly, so expect them to take lots of cat naps. Growing up is hard work, after all!"

⭐New Cat, Who Dis?

You might have already noticed that it's not just the kittens that are new. Our bigger cats have a new look to them as well! We decided we wanted to give the purring stars of Cat Cafe Manager 2 a little make-over to make them look even cuter. And so we did! 😻

Our lead artist Carmen explains how these updated design choices came to be: 🎤"Even though we were already pretty happy with our initial cat designs, we still felt there was room for improvement. That left us with the following question: How do we increase the cuteness of our cat designs? Simpler, rounder shapes equal more adorableness, which is why I started by adding more inflated, circular forms. I drew inspiration from beloved characters like the Dutch cartoon rabbit Nijntje (internationally known as Miffy), who show that simplicity can be highly effective to achieve that endearing look. With that in mind, I changed the head shape of our cats from an oval to a circle. Next, I softened every sharp corner I could find to create a sweeter, friendlier look. I simplified the face by reducing black lines and positioning the eyes and snout closer together. The end result is a cat design that is even squishier, softer, and snugglier than before!

Et voilà! That sums up every ingredient needed to create the ultimate cute cat design!"

😽Smitten With Each and Every Kitten!

But Carmen, what about the design process of the brand-new bouncing babies? How did those little floofballs come to be? 👶

🎤"To establish the kitten designs, I studied the fresh look of the adult cats first to figure out a way to make them even more adorable. The key was making the kittens smaller and somehow rounder than the adult cats.

And so I made their heads relatively large compared to the regular cat design and really leaned into that baby look. To top it all off, I added the classic kitten triangle tail. 🩷

We're super happy with the updated cats and brand-new kittens, and we hope you are too! 😊"
