Cascadence Update 1.1
Cascadence update 1.1 is now available just in time for the holidays! Update v1.1 brings two new upgrades: Attraction Grenades and Slide Boosting, as well as a number of improvements and bug fixes!
Attraction Grenades
Attraction grenades are part of an effort to give more tools to the player to cluster enemies together for area of effect based attacks and weapons. Normally defenses such as mines, rollers, and falling planks are set up in the hopes that enemies happen to wander through their area. Attraction grenades give a way to force enemies into a specific location so you can more effectively use your defenses.
You can find attraction grenades in the new weapons tab of the upgrade menu (see below) along with an upgrade that reduces their cooldown.
Slide Jump Boosting
Use Slide Jump Augments to propel yourself high into the air for attacking, getting to the outer reaches of your base, or running away (cowardly). Once acquired, sprint and then press crouch to initiate a slide. While sliding you can press jump to boost into the air. The goal with introducing this upgrade is to try and give more ways to successfully get loot from crates and set up attacks, especially in later stages of the game with more enemies to navigate.
To unlock: click "Slide Jump Augments" in the upgrade menu (general upgrades tab).
Upgrade Menu Update
This brings us to the new General and Weapons tabs in the upgrade menu. Previously general upgrades and weapons were combined into a single tab. With the new upgrades things were getting crowded so weapons and upgrades associated with them have been seperated.
General Improvements
In settings, the slider adjustments to sound volumes are more gradual and give more control to make fine adjustments. Previously minor adjustments from volumes 5-10 caused a large change in volume. You may want to adjust your volume settings as a result of the changes
Minor improvements to movement code including jumping while sprinting
Projectile enemies now try to close distance if player runs away
Increase damage done by falling buildings. Additionally made the damage taken by enemies more reliable when planks hit multiple enemies
Minor improvements to movement code including jumping while sprinting
Bug Fixes
Fixed issue limiting how quiet sound effects could be when adjusting in settings menu
Fixed sound effect volume setting not impacting some sound effects
Fixed a case of enemies colliding with player causing infinite sliding
Thank you for playing Cascadence and I hope you have a great end to the year!
