Carmagist changes
Thank you for playing Carmagist.
The next update is scheduled for the end of this month.
The update is planned to include the following changes.
Upcoming Update Contents
The Technology Level-Up Bonus will be removed and replaced with the Technology Map.
The Population Level-Up Bonus will be removed and replaced with a new system that increases Civic Power.
A new stat, Civic Power, will be added.
Players will be able to choose whether or not to participate in the rankings.
Various minor adjustments and bug fixes will also be implemented.
The next update will feature major adjustments to the Technology and Population progression systems.
Until now, the process of obtaining cards has been as follows:
Increase Technology to unlock cards.
Increase Population to obtain cards through random draws.
However, this process has been difficult for new players to understand and created a high barrier to entry.
The new Technology Map system will allow players to choose from routes that are automatically generated each playthrough.
Rewards available from the Technology Map will include cards, card upgrades, card removal options, relics, and more.
Card rewards will now be obtained immediately when a card is selected on the Technology Map.
In this way, the process of obtaining cards has been made much easier to understand.
At this point, many players may be thinking the following:
“If the gameplay of steadily building up technology is removed, won’t the experience of developing a civilization be lost?”
That is a perfectly reasonable concern.
However, the new system still retains the gameplay of gradually advancing technology.
For example, the more cards you acquire from a specific technology category such as “Military Tactics” or “Scientific Technology,” the easier it will become to obtain additional cards from that same category.
So how exactly will certain cards become easier to obtain?
To acquire powerful cards through the Technology Map, a large amount of the new Civic Power parameter will be required.
The more you acquire a specific technology, the lower the Civic Power cost required to obtain additional cards from that technology category, making them progressively easier to acquire.
So, what exactly is Civic Power?
It is the collective power of your people, generated through population growth.
When many citizens work together and focus on a single technological development, they can unlock powerful cards.
The idea that “continuing to develop a specific technology reduces the resources needed to advance it further” sounds like something that could happen in the real world as well, doesn’t it?
With this update, both the Technology and Population systems will undergo significant revisions.
These changes will also make strategic decisions more important than ever:
Should you focus on Technology, Wealth, or Population right now?
That concludes our overview of the systems currently under development.
We appreciate your patience and hope you will look forward to the next update.
Thank you for your continued support.
