Maps
changedI have 2 maps to show. The map you will see in-game depend on your infamy. Infamous pirates get access to the pirate map showing the trade routes in the game while privateering traders get access to a map which shows the information a trader would need such as what/where goods are produced and consumed. Another note, the map in game will not show your exact position, instead you will get a rough area in which you are located. The accuracy of this area can be increased by using skill perks for your navigator. More on the skill tree later.
changedPrivateer Map
changedAbove you can see the islands which the game will have. It is roughly most of the Caribbean minus a few places but it is quite big and it take quite a few minutes to travel across it. In the top right you can see a key which will help you in reading the map. I hope this isn't too hardcore but I wanted to give the player the feeling that they were actually reading a map.
changedPirate Map
changedAnd above here you can see the map you would get once you transition to a life of piracy. This transition is permanent by the way which reflects how it would be like in real life. You start off as an honest a trader and can decide to become a pirate and once you become a pirate you will be known as a pirate. There is no turning back. Therefore you will gain access to this map where you can plan your next raid on these routes. More loot means more risk and better guarded ships!
